What are you talking about… This entire conversation is about light armor vs. Medium armor. Why are you acting like I’m advocating for nerfs to any of these weapons?
We can settle this real easy. Are you on valhalla? I will run medium armor vs your light armor and we can do some tests. My medium armor is only 620 2 stat gear so it should be very easy for you in light armor to kill me.

No, I’m on Orofena. I bet that you could never catch me in medium armor if I had the correct perks and a rapier/musket or even identical weapons. My entire point is that Light armor is obviously the best loadout because of mobility and burst damage. If medium is too strong, then the dodge transition should be applied, but applying it now seems unnecessary. It’s really up to the developers, but that’s my opinion.
The whole point is that someone can have the best light armor in the game and a good medium player can run 2 stat gear that is not fully leveled and survive against them forever. Shield counters the range builds so hard. Medium shield builds are not meant to catch light armor and kill them easily. Range is countered by range. Axe hatchet with keen speed can counter them no problem though. If anything needs to be nerfed they should just remove mortal empowerment from the game. Light armor is doing exactly what it is supposed to do, move fast.

Way range vs mele works right now is decision to make when you play range:
- do i run way or do i shot?
If you chose to do dmg means you are slowed after shot so takes time to start running again. That time is used by mele users to close distance and put axe into your face.
And idea was working ok except some rapier combinations. Some build that were using rapier had to many tools to escape from mele when disnace closed and then get more distance (rapier, bow/musket, light armor, dex).
What should be addressed here is:
- rapier
- dex dodge bonus (just remove it)
And it would fix all issues mele users have with light armor range users (except musket since u cant dodge it while you close distance).
If they remove the dex dodge bonus and nerf rapier mobility they need to remove bloodlust from axe, remove grit from 300 strength and remove 20% speed from hatchet. Light armor melee can stay glued on dex players now if they are not ignorant. They have bloodlust (20% movement speed) Keen speed ( another 20% movement speed which stacks with bloodlust, hatchet 20% movement speed that also stacks with keen speed. There are ways to counter them easily with melee also so people need to quit crying and trying to get everything nerfed and learn how to build a build that can counter stuff that they have problems with.
Yea some build can stay. GA/Hatchet is best example.
I play light armor FS/IG and good GA/Hatchet player can stay on top of me all the time. I can run away after i cc him, but only mater of time he catches me. But its fair fight since price that build pays for mobility it has it survability. So i can try kill him while runnin away. Not easy, but dooable.
And dex range builds are just op. Same as FS/Rapiper. Light armor with rapier is just to much. Idea of game mechanics was you do dmg from range but mele can just keep W to close distance and have adventage in close combat. But it does not apply to dex builds using rapier + FS/Rapier. Thats why it will be fixed.
the light dodge allows you to run immediately without downtime.
the mediums must take a break, I think that should be rebalanced so that the mediums can run immediately as well.
Too long iframes, why should you be immune the whole dodge? It’s called iframe because you have immunity frames witch is a smal window. This game is a immunity second
Light armor dex will always be faster than other builds. It will not change. FS/IG have massive aoe and huge hitboxes as well. Fireballs hit me for over half my hp and they dont even have to aim it. There is a reason the builds are they way they are and will continue to be the way they are.
Light armor dex is not issue itself. But when you add bow/musket and rapier on top of that you have build that is uncachable for any other builds. And it is broken and im pretty sure will be fixed at some point.
Same is with FS/Rapier - you cant catch that build unless you are bow/rapier or also fs/rapier.
Regardless light should be faster than medium or heavy and should not be able to be caught if the player wants to kite. Thats why light gives up so much armor, so they can move fast. The game was built like this on purpose.
Currently, there is no downside to using light armor. Everyone can endlessly chug potions and kite from every single fight using defy death or rapier. Mix this with mortal impowerment and it’s gg. There may certain edge cases where heavy armor is viable in a few war scenarios, but in 95% of pvp scenarios I think you are actively nerfing yourself if you aren’t in light armor. If you are good at the game you can run medium as well, but there is a reason why light armor is the overwhelming choice for any build.
The game has gone full circle. Gone are the days of Heavy Armor beastnauts, hail the days of light armor fluffynauts.
Medium category has always felt meh to me, always.
But you can be caught with ease even in light armor. There are so many mele weapons with good skills to close distance that moment you decide to use skill or aa in light - you risk mele closing disntance before you can move again normaly.
