It’s wild how people don’t understand this. Increasing the cooldowns just means you can’t afford to ever not use them for kiting. Currently I actually try to fight with my rapier when I can, but if I’m getting one chance to use my kit per 15-20 seconds I have no option but to exclusively use it for pure mobility and not dancing around an enemy actually fighting with the rapier.
These changes are going to push ranged weapons that rely on the rapier for mobility even more into the less interactive max range playstyles that people apparently hate.
I dont think you know how long that animation is and riposte can easily be put on after it starts. And it was just an example. Many heavy attacks have a long recovery window that doesnt allow you to dodge the stun. The new changes lets us cancel those attacks now though but you currently can not.
It’s an instant-cast, it’s actually the fasted casted ability in the game, there’s no avoiding riposte because they just wait until you telegraph literally any attack. Be smarter.
You are misunderstanding me. If you are fighting a rapier player and they haven’t already used Riposte and you still use an attack that is going to lock you in an animation long enough that they can stun you with Riposte, that is what’s a big ol’ you problem. In the current state of the game there is zero excuse to ever let that happen.
With most weapons you can literally just light attack the rapier and then spam dodge when they Riposte and you will both activate and then avoid the stun.
But rapier is an instant-cast so it’s literally unavoidable since any rapier user with 3+ iq will just wait until you’re already locked into literally any animation.
So you do them at the same time. You don’t gut the weapon’s only use and then start thinking about ways to buff it to be useful otherwise.
Evade cooldown should remain untouched. Riposte cooldown increase is fine but the stun needs to be unavoidable if the ability is activated. Fleche CD increase is fine.
Yes you do. Why are you defending a weapon you obviously don’t use? The invulnerability while riposte is up and the invulnerability after counter-attack is roughly 2.5 secs depending on how long it takes for someone to hit the riposte. This is objective fact.
Your method of ‘spam left click and dodge stun’ is actually worse than just ignoring the riposte because it gives them MORE invulnerability you absolute ham.
