PTR rapier nerf to evade is good but in a wrong way!

Ok sure. Then also take it away from spear because spear having boosted stamina regen and lower cost for dodging backward and also being a dex weapon with lower stamina cost is also dumb. Why on earth should they have acces to that? Think about it.

Spear have literally NO defense ability , what are you talking about ? Spear has 0 cc immune/ I-frames ability

spear has grit on 2 abilities and can chain CC with instant CD resets. What are you talking about ???
Dodges are ifframes more dodges = more iframes. Again what???

Grit on first pass of sweep and on VK , I wouldn’t call this defensive ability. Sorry I don’t see any healers but inning LS / spears most be a busted combo everyone forgot

Please be reasonable. I am not saying nerf rapier to the ground or whatever. What I want is less utility (it already has a fuck ton of it) and more damage in return.

90% of people using rapier atm use it as a tool and not a weapon. If you think thats ok then by all means think it but do not devalue what we say based on that nonsense.

The rapier is a utility weapon, hammer is a utility weapon, sword and shield is a utility weapon.

There is nothing wrong with being a utility weapon to supplement other weapons that have 0 utility. Like a firestaff for example. And lifestaff also, has no utility. Should lifestaff get their own utility on top of heals then maybe? Bring back the old 30m lifestaff teleport with a 9 second cooldown. those days were fun.

Utility weapons are a very important thing in this game. If they want to remove that then they need to give every single weapon their own individual utility and get rid of the pure dps weapons.

I think this thread is an over reaction and it will just be nice to not have people using it on cooldown purely for defensive purposes. and doesnt bail them out of exhaustion for free. I think it honestly won’t make a big enough difference and rapier will still be too strong defensively.

But it already has a dodge, an escape with almost 0 cast time and a stun that eats projectiles why on earth put stamina regen on top of that? Bread sandwich

Rapier is not just a utility weapon. It has a second tree dedicated to dmg and its NEGLECTED AF in favor of some dex dongos who want to live forever. Thats my take on it and I think its not okay.

Less utility and more damage.

I dont think the stam thing to the rapier is such a big deal. They can get rid of it. But I also want to see the spear get some nerfs because it is waay too overtuned.

If the rapier gets a nerf hammer then they shouldnt forget about the broken state of the spears currently.

I am totally on board with giving rapier more damage tho. I use rapier as a dmg weapon in an int build every day and if it gets a dps boost I will be very happy.

I havent played war since december. But I play OPR every day and 9/10 players run a spear. For a reason.

Because it’s a fun weapon buts it’s in NOWAy OP lol , if you have 1-2 spear by roster it’s ALOT. Most companies will want you to run bow / rapier or musket / rapier because rapier is way ahead of spear for survivability/ defense capability. Don’t ask to nerf a weapon that is under-represented in war , The only PVP mode that is « competitive »

No this mentality is very dumb. Not the entire playerbase, not even half the playerbase actually play in wars. Its a huge 50v50 zerg which not everyone enjoys. OPR is the true PvP experience and that is why all of us are asking for ranked mode and team balance etc. Because new world shines on lower scale PvP and even 20v20 is quite high. The best fights is a good old 2v3 or 1v3 in the open world.

Stack spears in opr is very unbalanced. They have too much utility in their kit. Grit, rend, bleed and insane burst dmg + chain CC.

They shouldnt balance the game solely for war since war is impossible to balance when its a huge clash of 100 players.

wars should be balanced more around war specific mechanics like siege weapons and other war utility only accessible inside of wars. Not the weapons alone.

This is actually a very good point. I hate when people bring up only wars in weapon balance discussions which only minority of players gets to enjoy.
