I think this thread is an over reaction and it will just be nice to not have people using it on cooldown purely for defensive purposes. and doesnt bail them out of exhaustion for free. I think it honestly won’t make a big enough difference and rapier will still be too strong defensively.
But it already has a dodge, an escape with almost 0 cast time and a stun that eats projectiles why on earth put stamina regen on top of that? Bread sandwich
Rapier is not just a utility weapon. It has a second tree dedicated to dmg and its NEGLECTED AF in favor of some dex dongos who want to live forever. Thats my take on it and I think its not okay.
I dont think the stam thing to the rapier is such a big deal. They can get rid of it. But I also want to see the spear get some nerfs because it is waay too overtuned.
If the rapier gets a nerf hammer then they shouldnt forget about the broken state of the spears currently.
I am totally on board with giving rapier more damage tho. I use rapier as a dmg weapon in an int build every day and if it gets a dps boost I will be very happy.
Because it’s a fun weapon buts it’s in NOWAy OP lol , if you have 1-2 spear by roster it’s ALOT. Most companies will want you to run bow / rapier or musket / rapier because rapier is way ahead of spear for survivability/ defense capability. Don’t ask to nerf a weapon that is under-represented in war , The only PVP mode that is « competitive »
No this mentality is very dumb. Not the entire playerbase, not even half the playerbase actually play in wars. Its a huge 50v50 zerg which not everyone enjoys. OPR is the true PvP experience and that is why all of us are asking for ranked mode and team balance etc. Because new world shines on lower scale PvP and even 20v20 is quite high. The best fights is a good old 2v3 or 1v3 in the open world.
Stack spears in opr is very unbalanced. They have too much utility in their kit. Grit, rend, bleed and insane burst dmg + chain CC.
They shouldnt balance the game solely for war since war is impossible to balance when its a huge clash of 100 players.
wars should be balanced more around war specific mechanics like siege weapons and other war utility only accessible inside of wars. Not the weapons alone.
in arena where your target could not run away too far, yes, you may be able to stack few tondo.
IN open world or OPR, a semi competent pvper will give u some hard time to apply 2 stack of tondo and finish with FNF at same levl of skill and gear.
to be able to excel in FNF detonating, you have to be overskill you target, or sneak attack when they not foucing you, or have a bleed rapier teamate co-work with you.
most of fights, you only apply one stack of tondo, thats gona do about 60-80% dmg to light armor.
it is necessary for bleed tree to cancel tondo animation,
but its cluncky to use, and requires set up,
and you lose two of grace trees skill which is so broken OP then the bleed tree skill.
so everyone just go with cheese grace tree rather than try to find a way to make it work.
ANd there are easy counter weps like SNS tank, IG, hatchet,
and easy counter perks, like shirking clean, purify toast
and easy counter pots, like clean pots
and easy counter food, like the new dot duration recution food in PTR
So to use bleed tree offenive, 99% would just go with any other much easy to use and cheesy wep and just use rapier as getaway stick.
