Give split stat gear extra points, but don’t allow an additional 50 point threshold to be reached!
This would be the easiest way to appease everyone and it’s a simple solution. To people on either side of this issue, please meet in the middle and help me get the Devs attention. DO IT FOR THE SPARK (click the heart and comment your opinions)
If the current split stat change goes through— you risk a couple things:
Players leave the game due to the endless grind to maintain competitive PvP gear. You’ve already lost 99% of your players to this, please do not make the same mistake twice (or 10 times, I’ve lost count at this point)
Certain builds becoming completely overpowered with the extra 50 stat points, causing people to leave the game and the change to ultimately be reverted.(Blunderbuss, void gauntlet, likely others as well).
TL:DR Give split stat gear an extra 2-3 points, but please don’t allow split star gear to reach another 50 point threshold.
Yes, but instead of increase split stats to balance certain builds, what they should do is put restrictions in Certain Weapon combinations like less or more damage, longer or shorter cooldowns, longer or shorter dash, mana regeneration etc…
What people ignore is that there will always be an OP weapon and more effective combinations, so without restrictions, the most OP weapons will always be amplified in effective combinations.
Other games tie weapon skills to resources to balance, but in NW, melee weapons don’t consume anything. Which makes 0 sense btw. So a rapier on a magic build is just free skills and damage.
Ive got a big brain solution to improve build diversity.
Scrap the entire fuckin concept of slot machine crafting and let players create whatever fucking build they want with whatever perks they want.
That way, theorycrafting isnt locked behind 500 hours of picking hemp to dump into the crafting casino to maybe possibly experiment with a single theory crafted build.
Agree with you completely! A simple idea would be to create T5 gems that allow you to scale damage with strength, and dex, similar to how T5 int gems work.
I think an interesting way would be to implement what they thought of doing with the split stat, but in addition to creating passives above 300 points, so you balance for all build formations.
