Everyone needs to get their heads out of their butts and realize that this is NOT a nerf to light armor players.
They still have shirking energy, so they recover FLAT STAMINA every 6 seconds upon dodging.
Medium and Heavy do NOT.
If there are three armor classes and they all receive the same nerf to stamina regen, but one of them has a flat stamina recovery perk that everyone uses, then relatively it’s a nerf to the other 2 as compared to that one.
Only one weight class has something to mitigate this nerf, and it’s Light Armor.
Shirking Energy is ubiquitous now. If you don’t have it on light armor, you’re trolling.
Light will now be getting dodges more often than other armor classes get to use them. They will continue to have 90% iframe uptime while the rest of us try to land a hit unsuccessfully and slow them enough to actually do some damage.
You’re not wrong, wish I could say you were. Lol. Revert to live stamina but change something with light roll.
Not to the point it’s bad, but one man shouldn’t be able to I frame 10 people for long periods of time. There has to be a limit to the availability while not hindering the usability.
The current change I do not think is it. The direction and meaning behind it I do agree with though.
I have hearty and nimble on PTR as luck would have it🤣 I think they should test a week without the stamina change, but with all other changes. I have a feeling the other changes would maybe be enough. If not I think another solution would be better.
The slow affecting dodge roll is stupid as hell. If that comes through the slow amount on IG should be adjusted or something. One Ice Shower and boom. Light, Medium, Heavy, don’t matter. Damn near rooted in place.
I dunno, that slow addresses the issue you have with light? It dramatically reduces their ability to kite. Where as medium/heavy you are mainly benefitting from the I frame in my experience. So the slow roll when slowed is a nerf to light and the stamina regen is a nerf to all of them. Besides light armor has shirking energy so regen is less of a nerf to them.
True, I’m not sure how much it truly affects live if just this was implimented but what I do know is that it drastically cripples mobility regardless of stamina. Which is good, but we all know the aids of IG already…
In fairness, they got rid of the dodge lock, so maybe it would essentially be the same rather than worse?
From what I’ve tested and trying to be as unbiased as possible. I’m pretty sure it will be a step back. Of all the people I have spoken to on the PTR I haven’t found anyone that likes it so far…
You might be right and I’d be happy to be wrong. I am fairly certain it will be pretty unanimously disliked if it reaches live.
I appreciate your thoughts though, it’s cool when you can discuss these things
I feel like any form of slows is going to be the new meta if the shorter dodge change goes through, which is not really an improvement over what we’re already doing to people.
Screw the actual CC, just apply the 4 second slow with your hammer and watch them do tiny little rolls trying to escape the next hit. Ice mages wont even bother with trying to heavy attack to root you, you’ll be slowed and it will be enough for you to get piled on.
It’s just a different way to feel bad about having no control over your character in the midst of combat.
But this change isn’t doing it. People are still kiting on the PTR because this only slowed down combat. It did not increase combat uptime.
Get rid of the stamina nerf it isn’t having the result desired.
Melee needs added tracking and it actually needs to work. Nothing is more frustrating than being on top of someone with an ability or a melee attack and it misses simply because they pressed W.
If you can figure out a way to fix combat so that someone who isn’t in the dodge animation can be hit.,that would solve so many problems.
Nobody is asking for combat to be slowed down. People want to actually be able to hit with more than 50% of attacks.
