PvE Tank/heal incentives

Hello everyone and New World team. As allot of you I am sure enjoy the lovely expeditions and mutations in the game. We all suffer from one thing in common and that is the availability of Tanks…There are other MMO’s that realize this and have been reactive to the lack of such.

Can the devs come up with a reward system for tanks and/or heals for running mutated/normal dungeons. It’s not uncommon to sit in dungeon finder for a significant amount of time waiting on heals or tanks, especially with 10 different mutated levels. Condensing the mutated levels in half will still leave us with a shortage of players. These wait times for tanks/heals is only increased as server populations fluctuate.

its kind of always been how MMO’s seem to function people wanna see the big Deeps not many like tanking nor healing i for 1 tank so its not hard to find a lobby, but it seems more and more people arn’t spanning to far out of the realm of creating their groups i think one they ever get cross world dungeons/ oprs and things of that nature it would really be enticing to see

As a tank player myself I feel the same way. I like Kroby1’s suggestion about cross realm instances, that sounds like really great idea seeing as how your are exiting the game world as it is.

As a part-time-tank i would suggest to make more viable tanking and healing weapons with different playstyles.

As of right now we do have 2 tank weapons and 1 ½ healing weapons.

GS is a good tanking weapon, it has its shortcommings but thats okay.
SnS will always be a reliable option for tanking especially if you need to Bulwark.

LS on the other Hand is … eeeh … okayish from a playstyle perspective but switching to your secondary is only advised to do as an escape from certain death.
VG, while having a different playstyle, is only able to heal content you already outgeared/outskilled by a big margin. Its by no means a viable Main healing weapon.

Then there is the “social pressure” as Tank or Heal to be always perfect and spot-on or everyone is going to die.

The Cap on mutations also elevates this Problem even further as its fairly easy to burn through your Mutations rather quickly as a Tank or Healer, shortening the “supply” of available Tanks and Healers even more.

Maybe AGS could give extra Mutation runs for them, but this could be exploitable by the Players so i dont know if this would Help at all.

As a tank, i just don´t use the gf often. my experience is 80% of those teams don´t worth my time. I keep collecting good players on my friendlist and rather save myself from having to endure some of the newer players. You don´t know how bad the bow players are when they have to play a proper melee build and dodge stuff. there is no reward that will make me sign up for some random ride in the group finder

Just a thought… If tanks actually were viable in pvp maybe people would want to play them in pve… Mild Shock… Maybe if they didnt take away lego shields… Or maybe just perhaps they fix the last 3 con perks and made them good… Played 3k hours as tank for both pvp and pve and its just this simple. 4100 hours current. AGS does not care to balance tank for PvP. Meaning no one wants to roll 4 tank sets and then a different dps set for having fun. Meanwhile bow users and healers can just wear there pvp sets and do any m10 just fine lol a joke.

gear swapping is certainly a turn off for a tank player, i agree. It is extremely labor intensive to keep all your different gear sets organized with the current systems in place.

Hopefully there is some sort of damage absorbed or damage blocked stat tracked for the leaderboard.

Needing multiple armor sets to do the content is very discouraging, no matter the role. I love tanking in other MMOs but I’ve only ever needed 2 armor sets, one for beef and one for threat.
