To name a few: lack of random OWPvP, being unable to fight for resources, being unable to kill bots
100% they just want to farm their PvP track on newcomers
Unable to kill bots… i agree. Useless, because they respawn and start over again, but still satisfying.
Fight for resources? Well, if someone farm and put resources on the market, you can just buy what you need without ever farming yourself.
About owpvp: as i said couple of post ago, i will like to see more pvp events, leaderboards for duels, and special rewards for pvp activities, This way, i think that a lot of pve players will be interested too. For now, doing pvp is not so rewarding
I find it interesting that there are so many fortunetellers here.
An overwhelming amount of posters seem to know for certain that there are not enough players willing to play a PvP server. They seem to know exactly how such a server would fail when one has never been launched live. I have to wonder if they’ve met and interviewed all 913,000 paying customers that were on at the all-time peak.
They also seem to think that because they don’t enjoy PvP, no one else would. I don’t think they realize that they’re currently playing a game where the majority of the player base is PvE-centric because the game itself is PvE-centric.
They seem to be quite defensive when someone requests a single, fresh start, PvP server thinking that it will somehow divide the player base. That somehow all of those people who love PvE will suddenly abandon their PvE servers for that single PvP server.
Absurd.
A PvP server would invite a wider variety of players and improve the overall health of New World.
More like 3+ million. People are always trotting out this peak concurrency number without apparently knowing what concurrency means: It’s the fraction of the total player base who were all playing together at the same time. The number is always less than the total number playing.
You’re mistaking bored ridicule for defensiveness. Why ridicule? Because you guys have been at it ever since the change to the current flagging system was announced years ago, and you have been told repeatedly no by the devs.
It’s beyond flogging a dead horse. You’re flogging the mound of dirt over the ancient dead horse skeleton.
Great!
Thanks for strengthening my point on the amount of paying customers. Out of 3+ million I’m sure that 2000 or so players would love a PvP server.
You say we’ve been at it for years, do you? Oh, that must mean WE’RE HERE. Hi. Our wallets are ready. We’d still like a PvP server.
What does your wallet have to do with anything? Does the “give me always flagged or give me death!” crowd spend more on skins and other fluff? I want to see THAT survey lol.
The thing is. Pvp already exists. So if you want this mindset. Why don’t you organize a Discord with all you pvp devotees and make it an agreement to all join a low pop server perma flagged? Oh, because maybe you aren’t as popular as you think in comparison to the whole community. Or maybe because you’re scared of facing other tryhard pvp players and just want to pick on people just trying to play the game as they please? If you want this kind of environment, and claim you all share this mindset. Why don’t you fill a server with you guys and do this?
You seem to be under the impression that I’m asking for more than a single fresh start PvP world.
If you aren’t interested in this, why are you here? Just to be contrary?
The idea behind having a PvP server is to centralize people who enjoy PvP. Sometimes that means you get the short end of the stick, sometimes the other way around. Either way, there are people who enjoy it. Why stand opposed to them having a place to experience it?
If you can’t understand the futility of organizing a PvP group on PvE servers, please move on.
Is your opinion that people who enjoy PvP do not also enjoy customizing their appearance? Alright. That’s quite narrow.
Depends on how PVP server is implemented. I don’t see it improving health of New World at all if you are supposed to level on that server. It will be toxic experience to anyone who isn’t starting at launch and speed running to max. If the servers are transfer only for max level players, that should work
Great post, very well said but unfortunately you’ve used too many big words for the ride-or-die PvE crowd
You guys are something else. Formulate a server plan for pvp that can be free from abuse. Go ahead I’m all ears
They should probably just buy a Lumberyard licence and start making their own game at this point. Since all suggestions for a PvP server so far are deviating so much from the live version
They say all this bs but refuse to address the points on why it wouldn’t work. I want to see them formulate a pvp server and then have them answer concerns that would be serious problems. Make them work not AGS
There are plenty of systems that can ease a transition into PvP, such as Ashes of Creation’s corruption system (probably the best), fame systems, spawn protection. The list goes on and on and I’m sure there are better more well formulated examples.
But I’m not asking for a system that’s “free from abuse.” I’m not asking for any kind of system.
Only a die hard PvEer would ask for a PvP system free from abuse. That’s an impossible ask. Furthermore, I imagine that those people desiring such a ridiculous thing would never play on a PvP server. So I’m unsure why you’re even here lamenting about a simple request for one.
No… Just… ugh… Gawd no.
So, from the above comment, one could infer that PavP players “enjoy abuse”?
Glad to hear that and noted for future ![]()
Actually a fresh start pvp server would make me also start freshly.
But investing that much time again only for a little rework of city design and a couple of new generic quests is not a thing I will do…
It is not the same and actually I really think this would be good for the game. Why not, how this it hurt the ppl who don’t want constant pvp?
It only would make the game richer…
