I think people needs more incentives to flag for pvp. I’d like to see something like 20% more resources while pvp flag, but, if you die, you drop 30% of the resources gathered, giving a good sensation of risk vs reward. I’d love to see some of your ideas
I think something as simple as earning a bit of gold and achievements with titles like solo kills, total kills, etc would be a good start.
They have to walk a fine line between making being flagged feel optional, and at the moment I don’t see how they could encourage more people to flag. I can tell you one thing, having a chance to drop any items I am carrying is a great way to never get me to flag.
U got the chance of dyind and dropping some of the stuff u gathered, but also got the opportunity to survive and earn 20% more resources. Its a matter of risk vs reward.
Or I can just gather as I am, unflagged while watching a show and not get ganked by 3-5 people.
Why do PvE nerds always get so triggered by the idea of pvp happening in the open world, OP is just discussing suggestions on incentives to get people to flag for pvp
If anyone is triggered in this game its the people that stay flagged for pvp, us pve people are doing just fine ignoring you.
Incentivizing people to flag up will only go so far. Typically people are either wired to PvP, or they’re not. Balance PvP as whole, and it should help. How? As soon as you flag up, all your gear scales down to a level 10. PvP in this game is broken like most games. GW2 at least is onto something.
@cromica81 In that case, why come and comment on this post?
Yes, it is. I’m on New World for PVP and it’s fucking boring outside of PVP … Gaining only 10% extra xp is just ridiculous and doesn’t make you want to flag PVP at all.
There is no interest in flag PVP nowadays outside of faction quests…
Having a bonus of 20 or even 30% extra xp would be really great and at the same time having a higher resource drop is really interesting. If I lose between 5 to 15% of what I could collect in real life I’m ultra interested in flag PVP all the time
I think what would motivate peeps to flag for pvp is exp. For instance, if your part of the winning faction (IE the most land) then you get 15% increase | buff in exp. if your part of the non winning faction, you get a 25% exp buff.
Simple. then a lot of players would flag often, :if-then-else-or you will have a run away faction (it terms of exp) and the rest will have to do so.
After everyone is @ endgame, well then it wont matter i guess, unless you want to level weapons up faster. i don’t know, but other games have tried this to varying degrees of success.
Bonus exp or exp on kills is nice, but as you say at max level it’s not a reward anymore. We need something like a ranking, or a buff to luck… etc
The problem comes when flaggins gives a powerfull buff.
If one of the reasons they don’t increase the rewards for having pvp toggled on is people in large groups, this could be rectified by lowering the percentage based on how many people are in the group…
So… 1 person can get 25%, 2 people can get 20%, 3 people can get 15%, etc
