Do you guys actually pvp?
Lifestaff will basically own an arena. Itll be nothing but people with LS and those that give up because its so boring even trying to beat them.
Its always BiS and right now LS/VG would be BiS. You may get an occasional IG/VG combo.
Rapier is what I use and the ONLY time I beat a LS user is if they are in light armor and how often do you see that? I pvp 100% of my play since OPR has come out. I dont play anything else and have 800hrs in the game.
Well obviously they would have to do a balance patch before/on the day of ranked arena release for mainly the lifestaff, maybe even just not allow it in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3
i actually do pvp and i’ve pvped in a plethora of other games. If you’re talking about 1v1s you’re NOT supposed to be able to kill a healer. And if you can’t kill a healer with 1 other friend you need to work on coordination, which is ENTIRELY what arena is all about. Killing a healer will be the easiest thing in the world.
Arena would be a great platform for players to actually learn what actually needs nerfed and what doesn’t. The biggest thing I’ve noticed about this game is that there are weapons that counter other weapons and in all honestly. Most things are fairly balanced. Rapier and Musket being the exception if you ask me. Specifically Riposte CD and Musket being hitscan. EVERYTHING has its counters.
Good idea, but with no rewards. Maybe just house trophies per rank or exclusive skins. No experience reward nor weapon progress so as not to make open world pvp meaningless.
Why we could not ?
If they implant arenas they have to deal with LS, or every comp will be with healer and it will boring af.
LS is designed for large scale PvP, and don’t work in small scale.
open world pvp already is meaningless. You get a tiny amount of faction tokens and rep and the gear you get is ALWAYS garbage. The only reason to flag up is for fun or for luck.
LS is definitely not meant for large scale pvp. It’s the only healing weapon in the game aside from Void Gauntlet and VG is terrible at healing. This game follows the MMORPG holy trinity of having a tank/healer/dps for optimal group compositions. If everyone can 1v1 a healer that mean healing is useless. If there’s anything broken about healers it’s the mana pots because there’s never an end to their heals, but that’s not LS being overpowered that’s just a problem with the way mana pots work.
No it just mean that what would keep you alive is your skill and not any advantage. And we don’t need to nerf healing output for this, just turn-off the easy mode (and improve UI btw). Be able to kill a healer in 1v1 that doesn’t mean you’re supposed to crush him, but it should be possible with a combinaisons of good mechanics and good timings. If the player who play healer sucks he should die, if he’s good it will be a balanced fight.
It is mandatory in small scale PvP content, imagine in 2v2 arena with healer both sides : an endless fight because only one dps could not kill a healer. Or we have to all pick spear to get a real chance.
well i can tell you from experience I have absolutely no problem setting up combos to kill healers by myself. It’d be even easier if i had a teammate to coordinate with
You right, they need to fix that. Make open world pvp something really important and not just an option for fun. would be nice something like “You need to kill 30 players to be able to take the next main quest” from lvl 10, can you imagine? all those new players practicing and improving their skills early on.
At his rate, probably not. We are down 50% of population each additional moth. Its a hot mess, and its absolutely for sure caused by the excessive grind to level and the orb system.
Fix these, and i promise the problem go’s away.
I dont see an issue leaving the grind on crafting. Its actually good. The other forms just need to be validated more. For example, no one uses light armor chests. Medium armor chests should be bugged in weight to force people into medium weight class (dodge stride) so they cannot run full light armor with medium chest (dodge roll).
This will help validate some cloth/leather related professions. from there its just some changes.
Current orb system is not a problem. No orbs will leads to increase inflation in 2 weeks ( 1k each player every dung or remove drop gold from bosses but people again will complain), so in 2 weeks you will not earn anything. Everyone will have end game items, so crafters of life staffs, bows, great axes, hammers will lose a lot, cuz u will be a ble to drop free end game items from Lazarus. Inflation will cause catastrohpic price increase and new player will feel far away from older players. When I played I did 85+ Genesis 90+ Lazarus, so current orb system is not a problem, problem is players who are afraid to pay 1,5k/2k for each run.
