PvP equalization (introducing loadouts) for PvP game modes

I enjoy PvP in this game, I don’t mind PvE at all, it’s just that PvP is a lot more fun to me.

And I want PvP to be more accessible for new players.

To be honest I feel bad fighting a fresh 60 undergeared player with low gear score as it’s simply an unfair fight.

Fresh players — they don’t know how to PvP and they also don’t have any good gear which makes them extremely weak in PvP. They get farmed, it’s not fun for them.

And it’s not fun for 625gs, 3k hours PvPers to farm low gear score beginners.

What I think can work the best for NW?

There are 2 main PvP modes: arena and OPR, small scale vs bigger scale PvP.

(I’m not including wars as their rostering is done by specific people who are most of the time are clueless about PvP/or are meta slaves.)

Let’s us create PvP loadouts for PvP game modes (at least 2 for each mode) (2 loadouts for OPR, 2 loadouts for arenas).

What is a PvP loadout?
It includes:

  • Select 2 weapons (GA, BB)
  • For each weapon build a skill tree (20 lvl weapon mastery for all weapons)
  • Select gems for your weapons
  • Select equip load (light medium heavy)
  • Select attributes distribution (use 510 attribute points)
  • Select 8 armor gems
    Select armor/weapon perks
  • Select 15 armor perks (3 perks, 5 armor pieces)
  • Select 6 weapon perks (3 perks, 2 weapons)
  • Select 3 amulet perks, 3 ring perks, 3 earrings perks

Now that you have a loadout you can queue for OPR/arena and have fun! This would be a great start, add leaderboards later, make it cross server instanced modes - voila PvP NW community is happy, new PvP players are welcome. And NW stays the same outside of these 2 game modes.

Even if you’re level 20, or a fresh 60, you get access to equalized PvP game modes.

Wars and open world: leave it as is.
Let people grind gear for wars, for open world PvP (it doesn’t exist though), for PvE etc.

Just give us 2 PvP game modes that are PvP equalized for all players

Moreover it would let people try various builds, and it also can be used as a testing ground.
For example if I want to see how a weapon perk is working i can add it to my loadout and test it

pvp equalization doesn’t belong in an MMO. A 2 perk sub 600gs that is competent at pvp can compete with the best of them. Try a MOBA like LoL or Dota 2 for your pvp equalization, not New World

I see what you’re saying. Lost ark arenas is a good example of successful equalized PvP game modes in an MMO, they have tournaments and leaderboards.

A good idea, because equalization would mean skill determines the outcome of a fight more than now.

But I don’t think this would work for every gamemode because of the economy. It would probably be too much of a change to the whole game if all PvP would be equalized. And there are also players who prefer the progression you get with better gear, its a RPG at its core.

Thats why I would like to see 3v3 equalized, rest not.

I still believe PvP gear equalization is good for casual game modes like OPR/arena.
Current gear system can remain the same outside of these PvP game modes

I think the open world pvp should have gear equalized. And instanced game modes remain the same.

It would make world pvp more incentivized and more fun. And the economy wouldn’t be destroyed by ppl not needing gear for opt n arena

That’s the thing.
You earn gold from winning wars (owning a territory).
You earn gold from doing PvE/gathering in open world.
You get BoE sellable gear from dungeons.
Therefore those activities have impact on the economy.

Now for PvP modes:
Arena and OPR have BOP rewards that almost has no effect on the economy

The idea of not being able to straoght gear check a player must be scary to you

I think gs should be equalized up to atleast 600, some builds just dont work without 300-200.

Unfortunatley not enough players to split pvp activities without cross server. I’d reccomend enough perks for a full epic set. Players could still cookiecut and test builds. Wouldn’t be too overpowered to mix with regular geared players, but enough to make new players competitive when they join activites.

I’ve never seen a playerbase more opposed to skill based pvp.

Some of yall “pvpers” are absolute fucking carebears

I think if they give you an ability to create a 625 GS loadout and participate in OPRs/arenas being a level 1 — there will be enough people for PvP activities.

Currently a lot of potential PvP players are timegated by expertise/leveling system (PvE content)
