Pvp flagging rewards has to change!

Yes, I have read some of your suggestions and like them. More poi points to funnel pvp players to would be a good thing.

you cant balance concepts for the future due to a bug that was introduced.

also im in a company with some of the best war GA/WA players i know

they can clap a 1v5 but often can get rolled by people in normal gear and medium skill. (during 3v3 5v5 duels)

And I think people need to focus on the point of. WHY PEOPLE DON’T LIKE PVPING IN NEW WORLD? Until that is addressed. I feel like there will be no forward progress, in enticing players to engage in New World’s Open World PvP.

I think some of it is the systems in place are kind of crap. Another part of it is there just isn’t as many players interested in PVP as some people think there are. If you need rewards to be interested in PVP then its not PVP you are interested in.

the answer for this is the grind.

gear grind.

crafting grind.

people farm and do chest runs because they need mats and money.

the flagging is needed to make the best use of that time, to die means to lose time so they dont want to fight even while flagged.

that is the simplest reason.

only reason super companies and land owners are desperate for more forced open pvp is because they already have the gear and dont need to care about the grind.

people truly interested in micro pvp will move on into arenas.

people truly interested in macro pvp will go to wars and opr maybe.

the only reason open war pvp might even happen is because people are out and about trying to do stuff. not to pvp.

even influence pushing and the likes are entirely to capture territory and get into wars. not to just be out there and smack each other.

Prior to the D-Day Patch in November we had loads of PvPing going on in New World. It wasn’t till after the December Nail in the Coffin for PvP patch. Nearly all of the PvPers jump ship on New World.

Remind me what that patch was and what drove the PVPers away. NW is mostly a blur of broken patches to me at this point.

new world might be a fun game but its held together with scotch tape and papier-mâché.

But that’s partially my point. A huge majority of the current player base. Just do not have the type of gear, that they need to be a factor against these Geared Elites. Which again makes the majority of the players not bother with New World’s PvP. At least until they can start to win.

You people basically are asking the Devs, to pseudo-forced people armed with a dull wooden sword. To fight whole groups of people armed with rail guns and full body combat armor. I understand, that you people are trying to avoid this inconvenient truth. But it is what it is.

i think you are still missing the point.

with the number of pois available you can at the least edge out more cash by being careful and using strategy and choosing and fighting lesser companies and teams, or choosing to team up and take down a bigger super company and or vulturing in as a 3rd party.

the thing about meal team six and their super geared gear is that they only really function in the confines of a tailored event. open world pvp is nothing like war or opr.

strategy costs nothing while gear costs months worth of asmo.

IE from an example from escape from tarkov i have taken out entire 5v5 man squad fights as a solo with a hunter by using well placed grenades and just baiting them to fight and walked out with literally top tier gear for basically nothing.

November patch was the one where AGS basically got rid of the scaling. And turned New World into a Hardcore Grinder. Then the December patch was when AGS double down on their new Expertise system and forced the PvPers to grind 2 PvE dungeons for many untold hours. Just to start earning the gear to be a factor in PvP.

You can actually see how New World saw it’s two sharp declines with these two patches specifically.

Lol, never mind, I give up.

look i get your concerns.

yes there is a gear disparity but i believe in my heart of hearts that it should generally be fine as there is enough POIs to go around so that the fights should ether be smaller companies going for the lesser pois and the bigger companies and the more ambitious squads will go for the lucrative ones or if the super company chud squads are trying to get EVERYTHING then they should be spread out like so much marmite on toast.

Oh yeah… the gear score thing, the expertise system. Terrible decisions there and not just bad for PVPers but PVEers as well.

I don’t think desubot is one of “those people” btw. He is a good dude.

Gearscore ans expertise is just as excessible as any other gear progression in a pve centric game. Its actually better. You can level gear up instead of farming weeks with no upgrades to replace it.

The rng sucks but that is a different story.

There is no difference between the exp grind and say… quest gear for dungeon gear for heroic gear and tokens for entry raid gear for next tier raid gear for the next teir raid gear. Its all running the same content for chances at upgrades.

This game you get small gradual bumps which is what pvers have ask for for years in other games. On paper people should love it.

Sorry, I disagree. Any other game I get a drop and I wear it. This game I have to get 50000000 drops of garbage before I can wear it. Then I can actually farm the same two dungeons that I have already been farming. Its a stupid system that took me 3 months of bullshit just so I can get drops and wear armor.

this alone truly isnt that bad. 2hour time investment per day on pve for about 9-10 orbs it should take about 50 days to get a set of gear and weapons (10slots) at minimum. about 1.5 months. not the worst possible grind in an mmo (not mentioning how boring it is but that’s a different issue)

on the pvp side for the same amount of time its about 6 orbs. and this is due to the lack of arenas (coming soon) and the time investment difference with oprs for the ruby.

i really dont care about the money costs or whatever.

rubies should be 2 per day and make 2 orbs instead of one.

arenas need to follow the same pattern. that should even out the pvp, pve exp track and also double down for anyone that does both.

I am all for pvp content. I am certainly all for it being at the top of the list of things that need to be done.

Arenas, new maps for OPR, changes or tweaks to Wars, and adjustments for open world pvp would all positively impact the experience of pvp’rs.

However, there’s not just one kind of pvp’r.

I’ve met many who love open world content and are quickly bored with instanced maps and objectives. Yet there are others who love that content and then even other people who love it all.

If you want a pvp only zone that’s fine as well. What I think will negatively impact the game is tying unequal benefits to that zone.

And I don’t think the risk/reward concept that gets pushed on these forums is applicable to this game. If this were EVE or MO2 then yes that idea makes sense and works.

NW has no negative consequences tied to pvp’ng. There are no consequences for losing: no repair bills, no xp loss, no loss of gear or money. Along with this they have increased the number of places to respawn by quite a bit.

The worst that might happen is losing a resource node to another player. Yet pve players lose nodes to other players and bots all the time.

Remember that not everyone that pvp’s is the same. New content may favor one group one time and another group at a different point in time.

AGS does need to bring more pvp content (along with balancing) to the game.

true almost no reason to put a camp down anymore.

however not to say these things cant be put into its own instanced zone.

the risk of losing whatever you find in that zone for the reward of pvping and stealing it off of peoples body could be a lot of fun.

mind you gold wouldn’t matter since you can always squirrel it away in a company or in assets quite easily.

full loot would drive soo many people away though might make a small option for all the dumpster gear however the enemies would also bring dumpster gear so there is no point in it.

Exactly. There is no risk/reward in this game. I don’t know why people keep using it as an excuse.
