Well you are supposed to get a rewards track this summer. If all PVP players care about is rewards then they don’t really want to open world PVP. They just want rewards.
You literally get no rewards for open-world killing. The loot that does drop is GS 500. It’s pointless this is why the pvpers go to opr all the time now and are sad that the open world is in this state. It’s pointless to roam an hour to two hours to find one kill and gain NOTHING.
I went yesterday and defended our fort for hours. I got NOTHING. Still did it because it was fun. I do dungeons all the time that I get NOTHING but I still do them. Did box runs months back and did PVP there too. Got NOTHING but it was still fun. If you aren’t finding PVP in the open world its because nobody wants to PVP and that’s all it is. If it requires rewards then its not PVP you are after. Its the rewards.
If they are going to do open-world pvp they need to add in a PVP character progression system as Daoc had. %kills gains a point you can use said point to increase crit/hp/mp/stam/crit reduction etc. The higher rank you get the more kills you need to earn said points. Each tier spent in that brack makes it need more points to spend on another tier
PVPers like you ruin every game.
Wrong PVPers like you who ganked low level players ruined the PVP like they do in every game, bunch of toxic kids.
If you want PVP go play Rust or COD.
Easily exploitable with trade killing.
plus it leads to the “strong gets stronger” problem that made many pvp games have “seasons” and wipes at the start of the season
This is why daoc is still striving as the number one pvp game or is known for some amazing RvR pvp fights and has been going on now for 20 years?
yes and no obv will needs ways to prevent that obv what I put is a rough draft. But even in daoc it was exploitable but daoc had a kill spam chat that everyone could see. So if you seen the same person dying over and over to the same guy, you usually know he is exploiting it and gets banned.
not sure if asking or being sarcastic
both. The dark age of Camelot has always been known for its pvp and RVR fights and has this said system. Only pvers think “strong get stronger” even matters. You need a character progression system in order to make the PVP and open-world PVP healthy and the longevity of this game to last.
Sure you could say Elder scrolls had the same concept but they literally didn’t They had a Diablo 3 style concept aka paragon levels and every character shared the levels and they stacked creating God mode builds. This is not what I’m asking or stating. You would also have a level cap. The dark age of camelot has a RP cap of lvl 10 and it literally took sweat neck/hard core players over a year to even come close to that cap. But it always gave them something to work towards.
So lets get this right, with a concurrent number around 30K you think New World is dying but daoc probably has a concurrent number of 500 and its “still striving as the number one pvp game?”
Never said new world was dying but thanks for putting words in my mouth. And yes every pvper has heard of The dark age of camelot. And has heard of how great the RVR is. It’s a 20 year old game older than wow of course it doesn’t keep a high pop but it still is very very active with lots of free shards that are active.
If they had tiers and 60s didn’t have reasons aplenty to be in low level zones then maybe, but it’s a problem because there’s this omnipresence of high levels.
Flagging is just unrewarding, because they haven’t really put a framework in place for the PVP.
You guys play on boring server and/or are in the wrong company.
Go on a busy server and join a PVP-focused company that only flags and worst that can happen is that someone gets attacked and 5 of your mates come helping. That creates content by itself.
Do chest runs flagged or try to find flagged chest runs.
PVP competitions with other companies, King of the hill, etc…
As for PVP rewards, if the 10% XP was applying also to gathering XP, that would be a great incentive.
If the description of the PVP flagged was clear on what it brings, as 10% luck and 30% gathering luck, maybe more people would flag cuz only a mere fraction of the players read forums. Tiny little fraction.
Gathering speed could be increased while PVP flagged. 10% speed boost, cuz of the “stress” gather quickly. ![]()
The “haste” perk after gathering could be permanent while flagged.
Gathering yield could be increase by 5-10%.
It would make the PVP flag almost impossible to avoid.
If it doesn’t matter then why do you need such thing in NW? if it doesn’t matter why DAoC cap it instead of letting it grow infinitely?
I wonder how players that love equalized PvP would feel about you calling them pvers.
The most enjoyable moment I had in this game occurred when I was teaching my friend a solo chest run in SM. We where running along a cliff when another group started attacking us out of nowhere. We managed to drop onto a rock below the cliff. The other group overshot and landed on the ground below us. We proceeded to pick them off till it was an even fight and dropped down to finish the last 2 off.
I put 700 hours into the game, flagged the entire time, and that was the ONLY open world PvP instance I had where they didn’t just run away or wait till I was already half dead fighting a group of mobs before attacking.
Idk what more they could do to incentivize open world PvP but it seems like the majority of the player base isn’t for it regardless. Maybe a PvP only server could be the answer. But you know the player numbers are so low they wouldn’t dare segregate the PvP players. Even if it’s what everyone wants.
Look you have no idea about PvP so stop commenting here.
They need to make a few PvP-only servers. This will alleviate a lot of the complaints.
Then they need to make PvP-only forums. The PvP player toxicity has overrun these forums.
That’s the issue. Making unexploitable open world PvP rewards. It’s very hard. People should argue how they can make it unexploitable but at the same time be worth it rather than bitch about why it’s not here because I’m pretty sure that’s the only reason why it’s not.
Brainstorm and go!!
