pvp players just want to harass other people who don’t want to pvp, so yeah making pve players flag for extra luck and killing them is counter productive which I’m sure infuriates a ton of pve people.
Farming Gear in a PVP game was a terrible mistake AGS made … For Crafting it make sense but gathering ? Not at all when you never know when you will get killed and or lose everything on you… This is total none sense from AGS
LOL
Is that why they have to come to the forums begging AGS to force players to PvP against them? So there are “fights against other players”?
Of course not, but i would prefer to simply not see them in the field … separate world channel, cuz PVE are following Flagged to tell their teamates where we are ![]()
mate every patch since release has had little to no pvp aspects in it (including next monthly patch so far) clearly this is not a pvp game and if every patch thus far hasn’t convinced you i don’t know what will. beta it was clearly a pvp game but not on or after official release.
Yeah dude… that is literally what we are saying lol
I get where you are coming from , i really do, However, FORCING someone to do something they had the CHOICE of NOT doing is NOT the solution. Nevermind the fact that many people PAID FOR New World for the immersive PVE , so again , forcing them to do something they did not pay for is not gonna fly.
Now is PVP a more or less driving force of the territory system and the economy in the game, the short of it, yes , yes it is. BUT , if for instance : the person who bought the game , prefers to grind professions , and provide high class goods to the player base on their respective server, via those professions , all while not partaking in PVP then more power to them , thats what THEY PAID FOR , and if it keeps juicy goods on the TP , im ok with that .
Now, this also goes BOTH WAYS , as the PVP players deserve they’re needs met as well, as they too PAID FOR the game for the PVP . IMO, a better solution, instead of forcing either side PVE/PVP into one or the other, would be maybe something as i have seen in other games, make a “Flagged Only” Spot/Area in certain areas , toss in some Division Dark Zone~Esque type bosses with specific PVP perk rolled gear in there to incentivize those who like to PVP to go for it. That alleviates alot of tension between PVP/PVE as then PVP’ers will be fighting amongst they’re own VS. some gathering PVE BOB who clearly doesnt want to fight.
PVP and PVE in mmo’s is a VERY delicate Co-Existence and needs to be damn near masterfully balanced to keep both parties happy. it is what it is, just remember , that balance, can be easily broken by doing things like FORCING one to do the other. GIVING OPTIONS , always works out better ![]()
open world pvp has no objectives, no rewards and just worth anyones time.
Go duel, go play opr, go into wars. only reason people asking for constant flagging is so they can greif. period.
Aptitude Box, more like a custom benefit and paradise for robots,Personal opinion, it might be better to put Aptitude Box into tag player’s privileges
It is so god damn simple…
Just add a 30% yield Bonus…
You’re welcome ![]()
True even if you have 620gs+ u only dropp 500’ish
this… i got nothing, this is just unfortunately true ![]()
I keep trying to tell your game’s community. If you guys want a lively PvP scene. Then you people are going to have to convince these Devs. To make PvP much less reliant on gear, and more so on mechanical skills and knowledge. And to also balance the weapons. So more people other than just bruisers, become interested in stepping into PvP in the first place.
PvP scenes in progression gear grinders that require massive amounts of PvE investment. Are a niche for a very small minority of gamers. Most gamers are not masochists that enjoy being fodder for hundreds of hours. And most PvPers will skip games, that require them to do massive amounts of PvE. Just to be good in PvP.
So you’ll either have to try to convince these Devs. To make PvP in this game skill based and not gear based. Or you people are going to have to convince these Devs. to hand out PvP related gear for less than a 30 hour PvE investment. Anything more than that will send PvPers to other MMOs and games. Where they do not have to farm PvE for hundreds of hours. To have gear to start being a factor in PvP.
Strongly agree, people should be forced to fight if they flagged up, rn people just flag for luck bonus and run if you tag them
I remember when people kept claiming that adding luck to flagging would make people PvP more. They demanded it, lol.
It doesn’t matter what incentives they add next, the result will be the same after some time. That’s just how it is. Thankfully there are game modes for PvP (and more to come) so you shouldn’t really be so pissed.
Flagged PvP is fun for a while, but unless your opponents are of a certain skill level it just feels dirty killing them over and over. The best thing is for the devs to add more exciting PvP content to the open world instead of adding more incentives to run around flagged.
But of course they will run. They flagged because of the rewards, so wasting time PvP back is a time getting no rewards. The more rewards you give them, the more likely is they will ignore PvP. The only way to encourage open world PvP is to
First : Remove current pvp flag luck/gathering benefits.
Second : Add incentives of wanting to kill another player - rewards based on whether you kill opposing faction player or not. Something more like bounty system. Let’s say similar to bounty systems in Fortnite where you activate the bounty and it shows you a wide area where your target (pvp flagged player) is currently being. Not an exact location but an area that’s 300-400m in diameter and you hunt them down. Upon getting flagged you get no access to recall/teleport/log off functions for lets say 5-10 minutes. The bounty hunter has 5-10 minutes to find you and get a rewards. However the person who gets chased needs to have a incentive to be flagged in the first place - therefore give good rewards upon defending yourself from a bounty hunter. Etc. Etc.
P.S.: This could realistically be a very fun Cat&Mouse pvp aspect in the game.
We could flesh this out more, but it sounds like such a good addition. And yeah, removing the luck thing would be best so people don’t complain that they got a bounty for no reason. Only the ones interested in this mode would flag.
Sure, never done before!
One idea would be to force a complete zone pvp. If you die here you lose the contents of your backpack. In this zone there are e.g. new resources which are fought for. In addition, teleporting should be disabled here. Also, the city should have its own market, not a global one. So there would be player caravans to transport material back and forth. Only light food for thought…
Incorrect. 99% of people don’t flag because 99% of people have no interest in pvp. We are simply trying to complete whatever task is at hand without having our time wasted by being harassed by some no life sweat that gets off on harassing people in video games.
