Increase the variety to make the Umbral shard system less tedious. Thus, you will not hear of 625 gs torment as people can earn shards while doing the activities they love. Kills in pvp (it’s up to you to rate) give umbral shard. Add umbral shard to everything like outpost rush, arena, crafting leveling, corrupted portal, and everyone can level up their items by doing their favorite activity. And if possible, let’s take half the enemy’s token in pvp kills. Or let’s earn more tokens. And every activity we do when pvp is on will give pvp tokens. For example when we collect trees 1 token, when we create with pvp flag it is like 5 tokens (I’m totally making up the numbers) You’re reinvigorating open world pvp. So that it is no longer a hassle to get mutation spheres. And remove the money request event of the itemlet we bought from the faction store. We are already investing too many tokens. And earning tokens with available pvp missions is a grind.

It looks like the only viable way of getting the piles of umbral shards needed will be doing mutated dungeons, so 99% of the player base will be effectively excluded or won’t really bother with it.
That’s what they have to do is spread the umbral shard all over the game. Someone who doesn’t like pve at all should be able to reach them just by doing pvp. Thus, they turn the increase in strength into entertainment rather than torture and gain the appreciation of everyone.
Should be obtainable in a variety of ways, totally agree. locking behind content 90+ % of players don’t want to do seems very backwards.
Yes dude, just someone who likes to collect wood, or someone who likes to solo grind, or someone who likes to fight. The result of each activity must reach the umbral shard. They recently said that they want every activity to be done. But now they are trying to sentence people to dungeons.

It will be an easy exploit… two players will agree and kill each other’s to gain the benefit or even it could became global chat event setup all gather to gain benefits.
Or, you know, more prominently, maybe say… two companies. If, say, companies were already using cross-faction diplomacy to accomplish their ends.
It’s just puzzling to me that they worked so hard to make all activities in the game rewarding with the gypsum system only to now force nearly all players to exclusively do PvE content if they want to progress to the new max. They should’ve first thought about adding good endgame content for all playstyles before adding another progression system.
If you kill the same player one after the other, you can’t get a reward, my friend. And the more the player survives and the later, the more rewards he gets. So no matter how you look at it, it cannot be abused.

PvP definitely needs some attention here.
Already said on another thread. Too much focus on instanced content, specially instanced pve content.

I agree with what a lot people said. All content should award shards.
The problem is the PVP players are probably demonstrably quicker to exploit-- I’d say the easiest example is most likely that of report abuse.
Any reward they add to PVP, especially now, risks being exploited ruthlessly because politics have come to include multi-faction involvement, because that’s the best way to keep control since most faction shit is 1v1 anyway despite there (for whatever reason) being 3 factions.
I’d agree if we would exclusively talk about Open World PvP. Outpost Rush in comparison is a lot less exploitable due to the random nature of matchmaking.
Overall the reward structure for PvP has always been extremely lackluster and desperately needs a major overhaul. Currently there is really no reason at all to do any PvP content over running expeditions over and over again, which will be even more focused on that single activity with the introduction of mutated expeditions.
PvP activities just need to offer more meaningful ways to progress your character.
