PvP Needs Help Desperately

I think that’s a great idea, full support they make these changes.

I enjoy the skins, but you’re right, you can’t show off that crazy end-game gear if you’re just replacing it with a cosmetic everyone can purchase. Should be different tiers to skins.

Totally agree with Raindead on this matter.

This is spot on.
We don’t all want to be equal.
Let those that put in the effort reap that!

Ok, maybe I am wrong on the other points but gear does 100% drop from killing players sometimes. Its not every time but it does.

Well, maybe put your effort into PvP duels then. Instead of mining rocks and trying to win just off that. PvE players feel like the most entitled bunch. They claim to not care about PvP but when they do want to PvP they want to win it off their PvE grind and not actually win by being better.

A grind is what keeps things fun, interesting, and not repetitive.

Just wanted to point out that this is the funniest sentence in the thread. Grind or not repetitive - pick one.

Beside this point - killed players do drop loot sometimes. But yeah, this game needs more PvP based leveling and gearing options. And PvP enabled could increase something like gathering-drop luck or gathering gains to encourage more people to enable it.

I do disagree on PvP scaling part - it is needed, and right now it is rather tame,so high level players do have an advantage, but the can’t insta-kill low levels.

without the pvp scaling players will one-hit winning matches

I keep PVP on…
What is this even supposed to mean? You like the fact someone can grind to get better gear and a higher level but can’t use that as an advantage? Sounds like a waste of time to me.

I understand what you’re saying, and I think you hit the nail on the head. In doing so, you also clearly illuminated what’s wrong with that thinking

MMOs are absolutely based on power gain and progression, which in this game is obtained in the PvE context. Its RTS style thinking based on progression PvP, from the days of multi-hotbars and tab-targeting. At its core, its an arms race. Its fighting systems against systems. It is very much applicable to certain kinds of environments, and in the correct context, fun in its own right. But not an action schemed, skill based PvP environment.

They are very much, two separate games. And that is the biggest problem. Both sides of the issue are right, for the games they are playing. But they are not playing the same game, regardless of what Amazon said when they sold it to them

After PvPing more, I updated my post to remove the stuff that was incorrect or already implemented.

Wow, all the suggestions in the OP sounds like great ideas for PvP! I even think some PvE players might be converted over.

EDIT: One thing that might cause an issue in this game (the way it is currently setup) is restrictions on PvP in zones. I know that’s how you want to get rid of PvP scaling, but the devs have setup the land capture game mechanic so that everyone must attack/defend towns all over the map regardless of what player level the zone was made for.

Casual players always get upset when they get stomped by someone who has put in more time and effort into their game, especially in pvp.

Those are instanced. In that case, they should be able to just walk in, maybe being able to enable PvP, but be unable to partake in the open world region they’re restricted from playing in.

No. Just no. Arena is what killed WoW pvp and it doesnt need to happen here. PvP in general is literally impossible to balance and adding small scale garbage will just make it even harder.

Right, I get you. Only the players that are of the level for the area can participate in open world PvP. It might work but that does restrict higher level players to specific zones. I’m not sure if that’s really something the devs are open to doing though since they ant this to be an open world PvP across the entire map, for all levels. Hence the reason we have PvP scaling it seems.

Large scale PvP will never be balanced. Way too many factors involved. Small scaled PvP however can and it would reflect on larger scale battles. For WoW, the worst part about the arena, at least way back when I used to play, was resilience. Fights lasted way too long with resilience and I would not want to see that ever in this game.

It’s what kills wow pvp, huh?

a big issue i discovered with time in the pvp scene on new world is the fact that, some companies pushes for attacks / defenses and make invidual members or faction inviduals help them doing the pvp mission in return to get a spot in the war while in the end they do not get the spot in the war even they did alot of the effort getting it into conflict, im not sure how this exactly should be dealt with or adjusted but i think it really should be fixed one way or another, i dont think it is fair to any player who actually is doing alot of the effort to get a territory into conflict to not be able to participate in the war just because he was not picked by the leaders even the effort.

Why is this an issue ? because why would anyone do free work lol, why would anyone be motivated to push the same repeating boring pvp missions over and over just to get a territory into conflict but not be in the war ? thats like doing all the hard work for other ppl to enjoy.
thats really… an unhealthy enviorement being created right there and in the long term it will again just demotivate alot of ppl to stay away from pvp, why would they care? the big rewards are from the wars not from the pvp missions .
