PVP needs to be activate in non-starting zones

As if the PvE Player would stand a chance lol. You compare People that play PvP in this game sind they made their Character and people that “wanna try pvp”. How is that good pvp?

Whos defend the Cities? Whos gonna get land for the Faction? Thats not the PvE Players. But well you wont budge and inch so this convo is basically over. Have fun Gathering and RPing!

And your reading again things into which arent there. Why dont the PvPers also get to have fun? The whole Game is about Factions that are in a War and Cities that get attacked. Why cant we also have some little space where we can PvP to our Hearts content? No one said you have to go there.

i ignored the game when it was fully pvp after the alpha… paid attention and tried the closed beta because of flagging. i would toss it into the “well it could have been fun list” if there’s forced pvp. not because i dislike pvp, i love it, but because a large chunk of the player base would quit and that’s no fun.

oh and why i ignored it after alpha? OWPVP is always a shitshow if there’s nothing in effect to prevent what happened in the alpha.

Right now, anyone who wants to have open world pvp, can flag at will, it’s not a conspiracy of PVE-players that gets into pvp-players houses and prevent them from flagging up! At this point, it’s only fair to asume, that everyone who is interested in pvp is flagged, and that’s the playerbase you have to work with. Stop imagining that there is somehow a secret mass of players that are nefariously prevented from engaging in pvp!!

No the “Secret Mass” already left because we hoped people would not only cut trees and mine iron.

Lets say the Release Hype and lose 300k from that. Then theres still around 130k that left and more are gonna leave if the PvPers wont get pleased. Im not saying its dying but its gonna go down massive if not all sides are pleased.

I think what he wanted to say is : actually if you want pvp you do it for fun and because you like it but you dont have rewards or global goal for it. there is no meaning to it.

And im pretty sure there is a lot of people who are not hard pvpers that would love to join pvp if it has a little more meaning/goal. Im not even talking about reward here. but purpose.

Every pve players that hate pvp should understand this. PVE in NW have a meaning, you get reward, gold, and a sensation of achievments, you progress trough the game and you make connectiton/relation with playing in group.

You can’t say this for pvp in new world. there is no purpose to it, no rewards ( i personnaly dont care about rewards ) and there is absolutely no meaning/goal ( if we put 50vs50wars on side)
So PVE have a purpose in this game, PVP dont.

(except 50vs50 wars of course but regarding how its designed it will never be accessible to a majority of player so we can put it on the side… )

THANK YOU!!! It’s nice to see people who get it. I’m not a pvp-player, but i truly wish for pvp-players having wellmade enjoyable content! And i also think, the biggest potential in NewWorld is are the ways, pve and pvp could potentially improve each others gameplay!

Thanks, that’s precisely what I intend to do. Perhaps you should give it a try someday…

exactly what I’ve been doing for years in Eve Online, Rust and Albion… except on a much higher level - challenge wise.

I’m a PvE player, I bought NW for the PvE, but I can actually agree on this.

Firstly, the people that are saying that people will leave the game as a result of this being implemented, that’s no surprise, but these people that will leave will be the same people that will ditch after maxing out at level 60 anyway because all that remains is mostly PvP unless you’d like to do invasions forever. There’s not really any new PvE content beyond that.

Secondly, the people suggesting that PvE players could die, that’s why it should be restricted to a certain zone in the map. For example, If Shattered Mountain is recommended 60+, well 60 is max level, so most players around that level should have around the same gear. You can go to literally any of the other 13 remaining territories on the map and stick to PvE with the optional PvP if you want to. You can still farm your green wood and flint with whatever crappy armour set you use for wood cutting luck or whatever.

All this will change is that it becomes more challenging to obtain higher level material and items. It becomes more challenging. It’s no longer about which 5 man group can sit in the best spot to kill a monster over and over for the next 8 hours while they partially watch Netflix or whatever on the second monitor.

It’s good for PvP players because it gives them exactly what they want, it’s good for PvE players because it remains an option for them to choose to participate in, and it’s ultimately good for the economy because it becomes more difficult to obtain higher end resources and items. If it’s not for you as a PvE player, that’s fine, but it won’t bring about the end of the world because you can still do your farming and work to buy it off of players that took the risk from the trading posts.

The only thing I’ll say is that it should be heavily restricted to a high level area, such as Shattered Mountains, or the higher level areas (Including Great Cleave and Edengrove) that cannot be claimed by a faction.

That is what we were saying the whole time lol

That would require a lot of reworking, which is time better spent on fixing bugs/exploits and creating more content for both sides. Without such a rework, you’d just force PvP on everyone who wants to get to their higher ranks in their faction or who wants to acquire their legendaries.

Wrong. They already had “Outlaw” Zones in the Game. So its not that hard.

You dont have to set a Foot into Shattered Mountains and such for those Ranks?

Not into Shattered Mountain perhaps, but into Great Cleave for sure. And there still the legendaries and the main quest to consider.
If (and that’s a big if) they implement a zone which forces PvP-flagging, it has to be a new zone.

I’m of the opinion that legendaries should be exactly that, legendary… You should barely see them, especially this early on. But you see them fairly commonly among higher level players because at the end of the day currently it’s probably more difficult to sit at one elite for as long as needed to get the drop than actually get there or kill it. Especially in larger groups too, it makes little sense that you’re able to sit there with minimal resistance when you’re supposed to be in the highest level area in the game.
Same with higher faction levels.

well void ore for one which is a insanly low drop rate from orichalcum ( i do have mining luck 41% + what ever trophys give ) which also mainly is in elite zones and even if there was forces pvp and you did have an extra pvp gear set with you there still isnt a easy way to equip it and if youre getting hit while in your inventory you get pulled out of your inventory meaning that youll be dead before you get your gear on

i disagree
PVP should be option not to force other people to turn it ON
i am very competitive PVP player in other games R6 OW Valorant CSGO LOL Apex Hunt showdown and so many other games.
but this game PVP doesn’t worth it its broken its terrible its so casual
i don’t like to be forced to play PVP when all my interest in this game is PVE

I am against any kind of forced PvP. I am 100% a PvE player as In play a healer and I don’t really do DPS, never have. Even when I played PvP games like Warhammer Online or I played a healer. I will never get picked to do any of the big events even if I wanted to, I hate OW PvP. I am not OK with hiding resources I need in PvP zones. I am not going to buy them from PvP players because gathering my own resources to craft with is most of the fun for me. Forced flagging zones with resources I need would make me quit. Maybe that’s what they PvP crowd wants, but I enjoy the game and I’d rather it stay as it is with more PvP options that do not get in my way.

Uh, no, it was “literally” people wanting to gank outside settlements who insisted that scaling be nerfed/removed. Because they are trash players who just want to kill plebs, and wanted to be sure there was no meaningful way for the plebs to fight back.
