This is a continuation of my post here Change the Mutation weekly limit cap to anything else
That topic is related to the friction the 25 cap places overall on mutation content especially on lower floors for new and returning players. That feedback stands alone because it a friction felt by everyone PvE and PvP players both who have to interact with the Mutation system.
There are other inherent issues with mutations such as having to farm gear to farm better gear but some people think that’s a feature not a bug so i won’t touch that.
The larger issue is what I describe as Russian Doll Grinding design. Each layer of grind is enclosed inside yet another grind within a grind,
This is perhaps felt no place better than PvP progression.
It simply unfun to have to endure a mutation system with all its issues just to advance PvP gear. Especially if you wish to do it efficiently which means building at least proper Ancient and Corruption sets. Even more cumbersome if you have to PUG and are looking to be flexible enough to fill any role then youd need at least a tank set that can double as DPS and possibly a healer set.
All of this while I have capped azoth salt just from leveling flagged in open world and nothing to do with it and a faction vendor I havent payed attention to since I got my bag tokens.
Yes Im aware i can convert gold into 4000 shards/day once i have 5 625 items and I do that. It still just doesn’t feel good to prog this way.
I also am not completely adverse to PvE content and look forward to raiding as the Muts are boring gear stat checks and offer no real resistance other than time sink. But for people who just want to get their PvP gear built and try to get in on War Content I don’t blame them if they stop engaging and logging in to play. This system simply isn’t fun to interact with and there can and should be a viable alternative to it for players who want to progress PvP related objectives by playing PvP.
