With the 3v3 arena coming in about 2 months or so it would be nice to hear from players and the devs about the pvp reward track-system and with this actually means.
In its simplest form it could maybe be NPCs standing outside the arena that sells powerful pvp-gear with a new and unique pvp-currency (arena-shards or something) earned from fighting in the arena alone. There could be different versions of the gear aswell, where some armor-sets are more powerful than others and therefore requires more shards or arena rating, and some are cheaper and don’t. The vendors can also sell the consumables that can be used in the arena, if they choose to allow those ofc. The consumables can for example cost arena or maybe opr-shards to buy (which the player can earn doing OPR and gives the player even more reasons to play it).
Why I think a pvp-vendor is important is to balance the arena so all players in the high-end have equal gear and that the arena is about skill rather than gear. In the current state of the game BIS-gear can cost up to 500k gold which is absurdly much for the average player. The best pvp-armor should neither come from the trading-post or crafting, but from actually doing pvp-content (in my opinion). The best companies on the server with all the gold should not have an advantage in the arena cause of bis-gear.
I know there is a big thread here on the forums about that pvp should be normalized, and I do agree to it to some degree, but I more like the idea that you should farm for your pvp-gear by doing pvp to get it to be equal. Its a good way to keep the playerbase busy for a while while doing what they like and to aim to climb the pvp-ladder (which I hope they add in the future).
How do you guys think AGS will do with the pvp reward track-system?
