There really isn’t any open world pvp no one does it because there’s no real point or incentive. You get a big chunk of exp for killing a player and sometimes a loot drop, but no one wants to bother.
If they added a bonus for completing PVP missions in hot-zones (zones that are highly contested), that might help drive some open world PVP. Mark zones specifically as hot-zones, so that PVP missions there will have extra bonuses. Revamp PVP missions. Player kills earned during your mission could net additional reward.
Add in rewards for fort defense: If you are PVPing in the vicinity of a fort/outpost that is being contested with a minimum number of people in battle, add in rewards for the battle, similar to how corruption portals work. Hand out contextual missions/quests such as:
“slay x players”
“hold the fort for x minutes”
Notoriety and Bounties, where the person with notoriety gains some perks (perhaps bonus coin and loot for additional kills of people within their level range), and then the bounty hunters who take down the notorious PVPer gain a reward and some notoriety themselves. Could help.
Game was like that 2 years ago. It failed miserably and the game went thru a re-write and focus on a pve based game. The new content coming has many new pve expeditions. A new pve based region brimstone sands. Horse mounts, all pve content. Time to face the truth pvp players. The store won’t make $$ based on pvp. $$ comes from pve content
You can enjoy your pve content all day long on a pvevp server. Those of us who are PvP at heart would like the option to have some servers with PvP full time. I don’t see why this is a problem for any business model as it caters to both play sets and lets the care bears enjoy their fantasy mining simulator.
PVP servers do in fact help bring in the people so all the complaining about it is moot there are tons of mmo’s with PvP servers so many people are sensitive to the idea of a PvP server let the PVPers have their fun then it will give the PvErs their fun as well cause both parties will stop nagging on each other.
The servers are 100% PVP servers. You must mean you want them force PVP on everyone. They said they are not going to do that and that PVE and PVP players should learn to cope and coexist.
Well, that is another reason, that rats are the first to jump off the ship when they think it is sinking.
If you did not worry about the secondary missions, weapons, raising professions, farm boxes looking for reagents, etc. If you have not really tried, then there is nothing that ties you to a game like this and you simply go to find another one.
That’s why PvP, although many of you believe it, are not the ones who pay the bills in an MMORPG.
I haven’t seen a single post that “claims” PvP as the foundation in which all is built. Even though technically we could say that if we care to take a trip back in time… hell everything in the real world today was born of conflict.
All we want is a good mix of PvP and PvE… not one sided either way.
I don’t go on reddit because well… I’m a grown man… Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram and w/e else anti-social media yall belong to is a young persons game.
On here with all the posts I have cruised through I have yet to see where someone makes that claim. If you would be kind to link it to me and I will go lecture them on how you can’t have meaningful PvP without PvE.

And… No. You made the claim that there are posts on here that say PvP above all else. So burden of proof is on you my friend. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Maybe if I need to prove something to you … I’m already too old to lie to a stranger and above all to do the work of finding him what he is interested in knowing.
I never said I was right or wrong… I simply asked for “you” to back up “your” claim with a link “OR” admit you simply made a genralized statement based off an emotional response.
That’s all I’m asking. The way you are dodging a “direct” challenge to what “you” have claimed can only lead one to believe you are either A) Not the age you are claiming to be or B) Your a gown man child. Only my 10 year old dodges direct questions like you have been.
