Do AGS devs actively participate in PVP or are they still busy getting wiped in 10 man runs through MyrkGuard and struggling through a 50 minute run of Dynasty mutator level 4?
PVP is stale and unenjoyable due to multiple reasons, but here are the key points from someone who has 2000 hours in this game, wars every night and rosters and shot-calls 2 wars a week.
-Bow is skill-less and overpowered. The recent patch to the bow has made doing damage and getting kills far too easy and has eliminated the skill gap required to play bow (Targets are easier to hit, shots are far too spammable). Bow should require a higher skill gap because it focuses less on team plays, has infinite kite and gets to freely damage players who do not have range.
-Rapier has made it so that there is no risk to poorly positioning in New World. Players can freely position themselves with no consequences. I’ve seen healers run through and survive large bruiser clumps because of rapier riposte. In other games, people with low survivability need to be mindful of their positioning in order to survive and effectively play their builds. Not in New World.
-Spartan builds reward players with a kill for hitting an easy to land ability (leaping strike).
-Light armor is still too good at kiting people.
These are some of the main things that I think are wrong with PVP and I hope they are fixed because this game is dying fast, people want to enjoy and play this game but pvp sucks.
Have you not watched any of the dev videos or the events they have held? What about the ongoing event?
They usually talk about what builds they play in the game and what they do. So they do play the game but we just don’t know how much. Just based off how much they play in the events it seems that they play more than some form posters. Such as the dude above me @Ezra , who admits to only playing after a patch comes out.

It’s not just light armor. Also they just nerfed the stamina and I feel its in a good or at least not terrible state.
