one of the most successful pvp end game MMORPG was a game called Dark Age of Camelot. It had three realms amazing classes, good balance, BUT AMAZING END GAME PVP.
There were open realm frontiers that allowed for large scale pvp, zergs vs zergs, and group vs group. a well organized group could handle a much larger group. There were realm ranks which gave you different skills or abilities or vanity, a reason to pvp besides the fun of it. In the open world which could be done very similiar to New World, you had keeps you could take in each zone, each zone also had two large castles each holding a large relic which could give you realm a bonsu for taking the relic from the castle back to your realm’s castle. + 5 % to magic or str etc. It promoted very fun pvp. There was always people coming and going and reason to pvp.
New World needs to give us reasons to pvp that matter, make it accesible for many without ruining the skill based access of the game. Reward skills as much as you are rewarding playtime. If you can find a way to MAKE OPEN WORLD pvp re playable you will be reaping the benefits for ever. Creating good PVE has been proven accessible and done through many different games getting pvp right can be difficult.
