Quality of life changes to inventory system

I feel as though there are a good amount of gold sinks in this game, when dying to PvE or PvP, having your whole inventory damaged just adds even more of a gold sink and feels really bad whether you are a casual or competitive player.

I do a little bit of everything between PvP, gathering, Expeditions, invasions/wars/opr’s, crafting even (200 everything except fishing, weaponsmithing and furnishing).

Having my toes dipped in all these different pools of waters makes me want to gather and finish all my dailies. So that being said, I’m hoarding A LOT of equipment on my person at all times. If I die, having to repair everything adds up a little too much, not to mention the repair parts let alone the gold.

It also feels really bad dying in an expedition that I was invited to last-minute and didn’t have time to drop off all my gear in the town storage to prevent gear damage. Especially when that death wasn’t my fault from the raid wipe mechanic :frowning:

It’s also REALLY annoying having to sort things by dropping them on the ground and then placing it back into my inventory because I can’t manually move the items from slot to slot.

Suggestion #1:
Only equipped gear should be damaged upon death, not equipment in your inventory.

Suggestion #2:
Allow movement of gear in your inventory from slot to slot for cleanliness.

Suggestion #3:
Include some sort of color coding system or even a custom linking system of items in players inventory. This will help spot out your gathering sets easier.
Edit: Especially when there are pieces of gear that have the same exact icon i.e. Weaver’s Pants, Woodworkers pants, Engineers pants all share the same icon.

Example:
For my harvesting set, I would color the box around my harvesting gear green. Then, when hovering over ANY of my now green colored harvesting set, all of the harvesting set would be highlighted.

Suggestion #4:
Auto-Equipping gathering sets. Create a field to allow players to add gear to a specific gathering set.

Example:
When pressing Tab to open the player inventory, have a drop down box that can cycle between predetermined different gathering sets.
If player selects Harvesting, they automatically change their gear to all of their harvesting gear and unequip their current set back to their inventory.

Yes please

building on these.

allow adding in splits in each category (armor can be split into armor 1,2,red,blue whatever) so that we can mark gear sets of the corresponding splits. that way when you unequip or move stuff around it will go to those splits.

Absolutely yes, to all these. I’d also like some sorting options within categories, so you could click to sort in order of tier or type etc. Especially for the gems, arcana, and cooking stuff!

yes, yes and yes. We also need a better way of spotting bound to player items and non binded items. I dont want to think about how much time i have to spend sorting through all the gear i want to sell and what i am using. Yes i have locks on most of the items since that is literally the only way to sort gear somewhat. Also with all these changes taking place the amount of resources needed is growing rapidly. We really need more storage space, a larger item cap and more trading post listings available. Its getting impossible to both be a crafter, looter and pvper with all the resources collected each day and a half dead server where stuff is not being sold on the trade.

Open slots where we can place harvesting and refining/crafting gear with a hot equip button have been asked for since launch and people will not stop until its implemented. It would be an amazing improvement to the daily life in New world

I LOVE the idea of colour coding gear sets. That would help so much.

All the suggestions are good but this is what i really care about.

Let me make a list of items, equip everything in that list when i press a button. that would really help.

I like them all, but I do think #1 is to prevent people using death as a “quickport” feature by putting all their gear in their inventory before dying. So #1 might be a no-go sadly.
