[Quest Bug] Can't Start Faction Advancement - Excubitor

I have checked the Known Issues List and current Workarounds List. My issue does not appear in either.

• What is your character name in New World: Fangnir

• What server/world did you experience your issue on: Ensipe - NA EAST

• Describe the issue you are experiencing: I cannot start/complete the quest “Covenant Advancement: Excubitor”, the level 35 quest to attain the 3rd rank in a Faction. The usual green diamond icon to mark a start/complete quest isn’t there; it’s grey for me instead. I am currently level 45, so the level requirement should not be an issue. I have tried resetting the quest many times, restarting the game, and using and replenishing my faction tokens - none have been successful. I have confirmed that I do indeed have 11k faction reputation to start/complete the quest.

• Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug / Quest Issue

• How did the issue effect your gameplay: I cannot buy further items from the Covenant Armory. This impacts me if I want to craft better bags that require a Greater Rune of Holding (and equivalent progression Runes at later ranks) or if I want to buy better gear from the armory in the future. This is a game breaking bug because I cannot advance to the next level in my Faction quests.

• Were you able to recover from the issue: No

• What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: N/A

• Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:

The quest line is in my J-Key Quest Menu.

Usual green diamond is greyed out, suggesting the quest is in mid-progress or bugged. The previous image shows that it hasn’t been started.

No dialogue options to start/continue/complete the quest.

Proof of 11k reputation to start the quest. I am in Weaver’s Fen. Bottom shows that I am level 45.

I am lvl 44, starstone complete with all missions, done multiple quests of every type in weaver’s, 11k reputation capped for god knows how long. Spent days farming and trying to unlock with everyday ending in frustration and I continue to be locked out from advancing.

Ok so.
I figured it out. A side quest unlocked , different from the faction one that said something like “help the excubitor” (you will have to kill some ghosts and zombies near a swamp village) or something, for me was in brightwood (northen side) do that and it will unlock the faction quest reward. (you’ll know if it’s the right place since there’s a named ghost To slay for a faction quest in that area, think the name’s Victor or somethig ,it has a V in the name .)
EDIT: ( it may not be bugged it’s just that I had no auto side questing pin active so that’s prob why it seemed bugged for me , dunno if it’s the same for you)

WilsonFlint is absolutely correct.

In case people in the future have this problem, you already have the quest line. The grey progress bar is because you are already mid-way through the quest.

Instructions with pictures on what to do below.

Track this quest down, it should be in your J tab as another quest. This will be a 3 part killing quest at 3 separate locations. After finishing these three subquests, you should be able to turn it into Adjudicator Sheng and rank up.
