With the rewards for territory ownership being discussed and seeing the change to housing taxes, it reminded me of something.
We are still printing 5x gold on home taxes for territory owners. That will go into the community pool, but was there ever any confirmation this was staying or not?
That’s a lot of gold that could just disappear, but this gold could be causing some inflation as well.
Would be good to know how this will change, if at all.
True, official ‘dupe’ of giving 5x gold for house taxes is broken. But actually is not generating that much gold if u check statements of each city in game.
The biggest income is generated by trading tax fees!
I dont know if its considered abuse or not. But some companies are just rising prices of specific items putting crazy prices as they will take back the gold from their own company storage. So they can place orders and cancel orders freely, while others have to pay fees and if u cancel order earlier u are not getting any money back.
But yea, its just a small thing and honestly not worth any drama on this subject. But I had to mention it.
Actually I think the biggest economy fix would be to give only half trading tax fees gold or remove trading tax fees from company income. This feature would help a lot into fixing economy and removing the huge amount of gold on servers.
EF on last period made 513K on housing.
WW made 600k.
With the new changes and the higher effective operation cost for these territories than live, we are talking some decent numbers still. about half a million coin per territory per period gets made out of nothing.
This will only affect the trading city hubs really but it could be enough to cause tension.
Old servers with 1 year of life + multiple merges yes, the value may not be too big, on my server the total value should be 2.5-3.5kk/week
but on new servers, where trading fees will be significantly lower (There won’t be thousands of asmodeum available, 300-400k items) and house tax will be the same that’s a problem
change is necessary to ensure the economy grows healthy
How much do people make from an OPR? gold wise? That might be a way to see how impactful this is or not. Let’s say it’s 500g for 40 players. That’s 20k gold every 20 minutes (let’s say they have at least 3 running simultaneously). That’s 180k added to the game an hour? Just trying to think of whether or not 500k (400k extra?) Is impactful? Idk I’ll ponder on this some more. Definitely think get need to consider more money sinks though. It’s tough because when this game first came out it was hyperdeflating haha. Was pretty serious too.
OPR dont give 500k even if u are 1st on winning team.
Losing team also get less gold.
Also whoever has under 3.000 points gets less gold either if win or lose.
OPR dont last 20 min all the time, some matches might end in 10 min or 40 min - very much depending of the teams.
Also in OPR many players are using own potions, attribute foods, honing stones and Oakflesh on their own costs. This reduce also from gold generated.
I dont think there are players that do OPR for gold. Yea there are many who do it for Gypsums, but its 2 per day.
Think we are on different wavelinks here. In no way arguing it’s a fantastic money maker, just that it’s an action that creates new gold. When we think of inflation one factor is the amount of gold created in the game versus the amount removed.
On a large scale it is a consistent thing that is creating gold. Just was thinking out loud is all. Wonder what it’s impact is versus the daily gypsum bags etc.
