Question: What about the early Watermark exploits, cheats, advantages?

Congratulations

Apparently its a case of exploit early and often…ride that gravy train when it’s hot cause if you don’t you will only lose out in the end.

They’re being insulated, their position harder to reach, their competition harder to achieve.

Simple as, really.

They were all right… exploit early and often, avoid what’s all happening.

The crazy thing is they didn’t even ban all the dupers, people have shown proof of still having duped voidbent sets and trophies with no repercussions.

Just flag for PVP and join the zerg. With the 30% Luck bonus and being in a large group, all you have to do is mindlessly follow.

Flagging for PVP is easy mode PVE.

Yeah, been playing since day 1, hit 60 pretty early, but decided to spend my time pvping and crafting instead of watermarking, because it seemed a viable path to basically equal strength. But now I’m slammed way down beneath players with the same hours played simply because I didn’t choose to run chests and picked one of the other options to get gear.

Disgusting, AGS.

You may not be alone. I do not think you are even a minority. BUT that number is not infinitesimal. The real question is what supports your faith in the product to even consider such a course?

So yeah, i’m really worried there will be a large portion of the current player base who will get to abuse the advantage they received from using said exploits like “hatchet”, “instant respawn bosses”, “unnerfed chest / priest runs”, etc. A lot of people will be GODS for months before people ever catch up… That can’t go well for any game.

I know a lot of people in my old company that lvled their HWM by killing the bugged tentacle… good for them I guess

This is the moral of the story, exploit early and often or be left behind. If NW taught us anything, in your next game remember this lession.

My take is that we just have to take it for GS 600. However, when the new gear comes in with 650 (whatever it will be) the old system/advantages becomes defunct.

I was actually surprised they didnt wait for the new tier to make the expertise change.

AGS will be rewarding these players by converting all their watermarks (a mechanic that had NOTHING to do with gear performance when they leveled it) into expertise and giving them an unfair advantage over other players in the game.

This ^ will be consistent with how AGS has always rewarded players that exploit and take advantage of bugs in game for an unfair advantage over others. They drag their feet for weeks allowing them to spam these exploits, keep the loot, keep the watermark level, and now they will double down on rewards by handing these players conversion points on a mechanic most exploited to get which had NOTHING to do with the reward AGS will be unfairly handing to them for gear performance.

NW taught me not to trust or believe in AGS, sadly. This game has been a harrowing lesson on having faith in AAA studios.

Indie or bust. Suits just stay too far divorced from the bottom line but have sway suggesting otherwise…

The tentacle is slow as hell. The two priests in Myrkguard were significantly faster before they nerfed them. Right now, Sirens boss loop is only significantly quick way to level WM and that caps at 577.

Slow but you could do it alone, and all day. Big advantage on server with low pop

Its 10# for loot luck, 30% is harvesting!

I’d consider rejoining a fresh server in the future. Not now. AGS still clearly do not have a handle on the technical side of an MMO. Still making technical mistakes that mmo’s made 20 years ago. Its astonishing really.

My actual hope is that like a year from now they do like a whole game relaunch with new fresh servers. If I dont feel like the game will be hit with game breaking bugs over and over, I’d be done to play.1

Agreed. I would much prefer AGS stop wasting their time trying to patch their way out of this mess they’ve created. It’s obvious this is just a beta.

They need to shut this shit down and dedicate that time to fixing the fundamentals of this game. They can bring it back in a year in a working state after they’ve settled on a fucking direction.

Welcome to stat-based combat! I’ve told them for a year now that transitioning away from skill-based combat was a terrible idea. Now we’re living it.

Cheers :beers:
