So we went from low population servers to not being able to play. I hope they change that quickly, I usually only get 20 minutes or so to jump on and do a bit of something. Now that 20 minutes is spent in queue so I don’t even play.
Just like at the start of the game. I quit for more than a month and waited for it to settle.
A dev posted a few days ago that they merged the servers again because they prefer to see busy towns and would rather be in a queue than an empty server.
I wonder how they feel now given how many players they had to turn away yesterday on launch of the summer event because they got rid of all the spare capacity a few days prior.

Towns on these servers were fine before the merge. Why on earth didn’t they merge the low pop servers together so that there was a balanced population across all instead of over population on all… it’s just mind boggling the thought process (or lack of) that went into this decision.

Indeed im enjoying my 40 min in queue ate this very moment, much better than an empty town.
Not only is there a QUEUE PROBLEM you can’t even try to transfer. THAT IS BROKEN TOO!!

They can’t increase server cap with current network infrastructure, my ping went up by 30 and spikes upwards of 50 since the transfers 1900/2000 players.
And this is without many people around.
Yesterday in Myrk run I had 300-400 ping on average, my character even got launched outside of Myrk by the lag, it flew so far that unstuck did not even bring me back inside Myrk lmao.

Would be cool if they’d open a fresh server in US East 1. The queue times are crazy
I hate and despise waiting in ques.
I keep bouncing around… 10 to 7 to 3 to 1, then back to 7, then it works down to like 2, then jumps back to 10…
Mine just gets to 1 and stays at 1 for eternity apparently.
You really think they care? I think we are like a bug under a magnifying glass in the sun to them. They are going to see how long they can make us all squirm.

Its very annoying. Some of us left really enjoy the game and here the devs have made it so we cant enjoy the new content. It makes you want to give up. Seems like a poorly thought out decision.

Maybe I am giving them too much credit here. But I don’t believe that they misunderstand their own product so much that they didn’t see the server merges before a content release as a potential bottleneck for players who might get stuck in queues again. My guess is they realized it was at least a potential problem and they didn’t care. The amazing thing to me is, they have not done anything to try to fix it. If it were a problem with their precious in game economy, they would have fixed it the same day the issue was caused. What is even more amazing to me is that some of their fan boys are defending them on the issue as if server queues are actually a good thing or something. That is mind boggling to me.
All i know is i enjoy new world. I have never been on a dead server. I hate ques. If they want more and more ques they will loose people like me who buy the tent skins and the emotes. I rarely buy the armor skins because they are worse than the armour skins in game often. But i wont wait an hour of my two hours or so of free time ina que that was made by poor decisions and planning.
I am a software developer and also a game developer on a small game studio. My job is to provide, scale and integrate the game with the backend server. Those AGS actions are just ridiculous. There is no other word for this kind of action… Scaling a server is the very first thing that you think when you are planning to increase the amount of players on the game and unfortunately this is the last thing AGS will do. Sometimes I wonder myself if it is a management problem, lack of thinking or just a bunch of lazy programmers.
Please AGS, hire me to fix this crap backend… 
I hope AGS understands ques are creating serious friction between them and rge players. I could not log on at all last night. I watched 2 hours of videos while i sat in a que of 1 for two hours. Then i went to bed.
