Increased projectile radius on all attacks, except Penetrating Shot.
Added cancel windows to weapon readying animations.
Players can now sprint-cancel when lowering the weapon.
Added missing cancel buffers when lowering weapon.
Poison Shot and Penetrating Shot now use the same fire/cancel inputs as Rain of Arrows.
Reduced hip-fire startup and recovery, and increased move speed while hip-firing from 1.65 → 2.25.
Reduced hip-fire multiplier from 0.8 → 0.6.
Reduced Charged Shot damage multiplier from 1.7 → 1.5.
Reduced charge time and recovery for Charged Shots.
Reduced the power of the Bow’s Aim True Passive from 30% → 10%
Bow users wanted slots in wars not to be even better at the one thing they were already good at duels… 1 v 1 Bow on live is a great option. It is however almost irrelevant in larger scale PvP in the IG VG + Bruiser Meta where almost everyone has Resilience and Phys Damage reduction.
Basically you buffed the hitbox so its easier to hit (lowered skill cap), lowering the recovery time is a plus but honestly this wasn’t the complaint*.
-Maybe made Heavy Attacks more viable (but still lowered the damage output) - Taking away the potential for a glass cannon 1 shot for a very highly skilled and patient bow player cause I never use charged shots anymore its just way too much time per shot.
*The complaint on Bow’s current state is it has minimal impact in an environment it should thrive in. It has multiple AoE spells but the top company on our server slots no dex players. Not a team- 0 as in none- and honestly the way they operate… Id like to think somewhere a Company in EU plays a meta that fields all types of players and would dominate DG but its very unlikely. These guys are animals and being forced to play a meta they more or less created is super rough.
Bow needs to either shoot faster, hit harder (I dont think its much to ask that Concussion is just always on) seeing as this was how you tuned the bow to be before you realized it was bugged, maybe not enough to have a flat 20% damage increase but it’d at least make it more viable in OPR. While it does have a lower skill floor on certain abilities or shots that just are door spams for example, the bow always had one of if not the highest skill cap in the game and it was really enjoyable to play. How long are you gonna punish people for jumping after each shot… let us play the weapon we love. PLEASE. I am downloading the PTR right now so if I missed something and it turns out Bows actually buffed Ill come back and comment on it but right now Im pretty pessimistic.
they specifically said these are very early notes and not set in stone. these are definitely steps in the right direction and im over the moon with it. Yes, bow perks are still shit, knee shot is still shit, splinter shot is still shit. rain of arrows is still clunky. These are actually easy changes, just temporarily buff the numbers on the slows and on the perks (straight up 30% slow on knee shot, 30% effect on weaken for poison arrow, restore 30-40 stam on successful hits with evade shot), increase RoF area or decrease animation time. But im still so glad they made these changes now finally and who knows, maybe there will be more at the end of this patch.

ya Id be more positive if they were humans that mained bow I mean there’s a reason GA is hard meta lead dev plays it but mad props on the nerfs/fixes on GA.
Am I missing some of the bow changes cause it looks like no numbers have been increased except reaction time and hitbox
Ya I mean there are definitely buffs there but the more I think about it its all stuff Im not having problems with currently… it just doesnt hit hard or consistently enough they helped the consistently – true RoA is clunky, I mean I use Rapid Shot in OPR which is very clunky just to make up for the lack of damage. Youre right though, I should try and see how the quickness in shooting and recovery help it before judging… but that is why I said on paper its underwhelming.
And Ive PTRd many a games, the reason you complain is to encourage changes prior to release ;p
It feels dramatically better, and it feels like much more on par with other weapons, but it could use some changes to weapon perks and the ability tree could use a rework.
I just tested it because I wanted to know aswell.
On Live you can shoot normal attacks every 1.42s
On PTR you can shoor every 1.15s
You really feel the difference. It’s basically the same rate of fire you were able to gain with jump-canceling before it was removed.
Add to that the fact that now you can chain normal-shot/ability pretty istantly.
Still, that’s what I’ve been waiting for is something that makes it so I can play the weapon I love playing and have a chance to get slotted – maybe removing IG from the game wouldve just been the better move
