Raid Design: A New Raid Concept + NW Raids Future

Hello Content designers and players. I wanted to suggest a new concept to raiding that i had suggested some time ago. I believe this can change the way raids are done.

The Basic concepts
Each boss has a static ability to it (meaning they will also have that ability). Each week the boss will also pull two abilities from its Dynamic “group type”.

Group Types
Group types can be corrupted, ancient, etc or they can be damage based like ice, fire, etc.

Weekly Changes

  • As each week resets, the bosses will obtain two new dynamic abilities and this will create an unending change in raid content meaning you can fight the same boss, in the same raid 1000 times and likely never see the same fight. This also means that content designers can make new raid content without any long periods of time. In theory they can make a new raid encounter every week or two by adding another ability or multiple abilities to the dynamic pool

Ability design concepts
To keep raids from being overly complex, simply concepts can be assigned to abilities so players can quickly learn how to deal with specific situations in an intuitive manner there by making such content hard, but learnable. Most of the conveying of these concepts can be done through proper worldspace gui elements. Examples of this would be making bad things to stand in have a red circle, and good things have a blue one.
