Raid Groups? Please?

Unlike some of the more vocal folks around here, I enjoyed the dev video – although part of that may have been because I wasn’t expecting that much. That being said, my eyes pricked up at the mention of more difficult large-scale raid content, and it immediately reminded me that this game has needed (at least) 20-man raid groups since the game launched.

One could even argue, given the size of some of the faction activities (like elite runs or influence pushes) that 40-man or 50-man raid groups would be super useful as well.

So, once again (I know I’ve mentioned it here before) I come here, hat in hand, asking for raid groups so that more than 5 people can get together and benefit from being a group in the open world.

Yeah I got really excited when AGS announcing raids, although 10-20raids sound abit small if you ask me, but considering not get lag in raid with 40-man raidgroup it might be hard with the current server population and server capacity.

I’ve played in an MMO here or there that had 20-man raids for some open world activity that worked out pretty well. I think it all depends on the design of the raid and the inherent challenge it presents.

Either way, we have nothing now, so anything would be an improvement.

For open world avtivities I don’t think we need raid groups. Maybe have something like the “Commander” System from GW2. Activate a player you want to “follow” so you can always see that player as symbol in addition to your group mates.

Also please update the player visibility options so I can choose options like “only show group names” or something

No sense in not making use of raid groups in open world, should they exist elsewhere. In the MMOs that made use of them for open world content, they were extremely useful.
