You can reach out to the community to map rocky areas for minerals if needed.
You already have trees everywhere, make it so a bunch of them spawn as wyrdwood or ironwood.
I can’t stop thinking that AGS is profiting from bots one way or another.
We have a beautiful open world totally devoid of anything except running predefined routes that are already camped or swarmed by bots.
The open world premise was amazing, and you locked us all in dungeons.
There’s some artificial scarcity, and while servers pop slowly but steadily goes down, please tackle the bots problem while improving a little the gaming experience.
Hell, let the already known stuff there, give us a reason to walk the map like the 200 azoth travel days, I’ll sure find something worthy, maybe stab a flagged guy on the way there, or try to outrun someone that’s not flagged.
Do so on dangerous areas, anything north of Brightwood and west of Mourningdale has plenty of locations, woods, everything to spawn resources.
Also, with the upcoming patch, we can’t jail bots any more with tents, so, see when I think that someone is catering to botfarms one way or another? Or sometimes the solution creates new problems somewhere else.
I am fine with random node locations but don’t think it will stop bots. From my understanding bots will still be able to locate nodes based on pattern recognition of nodes. I would assume the nodes would still be in the same general area as before.
I think the best way to stop them is like what they do in the sulfur pool areas making them very hard to get to.
And I don’t think AGS is profiting from bots outside of the game purchase.
Fair enough.
Make 1/20th of the random rocks and trees to spawn as starmetal, ori, ironwood.
Make it so that any random mob spawns as a sort-of-rafflebones with some resources to loot, based on the area level? Put resources as corruption breaches reward, boos them up to make it worth your while.
The key is making nodes available for each individual with a long cool down, say 2 hours or more. Everyone can get the node, once, and then have to wait for the cool down. Makes bottling much less profitable AND you know the nodes will be there for you. Will make you find more routes to run to get what you want, but you KNOW it will be there for you. So win win.
Not the best idea. AGS would most likely fail to code this correctly and would end up with random mode in places players can’t get to. Better to just do away with shared locations and player instant modes like FFXIV
We can ask for things, they can say no, try and fail, and fix it later.
Personal nodes would be the absolute definitive solution, but they never even acknowledged the request.
For the coding part, every time you mine a random rock it despawns and has a respawn timer. Same with trees. But instead of spawning the same generic rock, give it a chance to spawn as any ore, tho I’m reluctant to this because bots will get stuff anyway.
Make I dunno, a fraction of the spawned mobs have special resources loot, flag them with a glow. There’s million of ways to introduce new gathering mechanics that won’t facilitate resources to bots while reusing the big ass map that’s only for hunting turkeys nowaday, or to gather some skins and fibers. Ok, maybe not a million ways, but there are ways to reuse to some extent, provide players with fair resources, and screw bots in the same stroke.
