This is half a bug report , half a suggestion.
Some people can relate to that topic because it affected them too.
Sometimes your thousands of gold worth gear can be lost when it is locked, when you quick salvage some greens & blues you can experience (pretty rare bug) out of nowhere that your LOCKED gear from inventory dropped , it happens but…
First! should that bug be fixed , but i dont have more details when/why it happen because it is so rare and random
Second! We SHOULDN’T be able to DROP LOCKED items! IF you want to drop it you have to unlock it , please change it asap

I’ve had the same issue with dropping a locked Stone cutting set, back when they were worth a small fortune. I walked up to a shed, pressed “E” on it, and proceeded to use the key shortcut for moving items from your inventory to your storage quickly. Except I had that weird delay bug where sometimes only your inventory opens and your storage does not open for another 1-2 minutes. The quick move shortcut from inventory to storage at the time was the same shortcut for discarding items from your inventory. So I had discarded my stonecutting set and logged off thinking it was in my storage. Next day is when I noticed it went missing, and then I realized what had happened a few days later when I had the same storage delay bug happen to me again and I almost discarded a few items the same way. Contacted live support and they just dismissed it as an “oopsies, you live and you learn” even after they agreed that you should not be able to discard locked items.
