ranged meta is so bad.

Amount of ranged in OPR is all time high. at least 90% ranged, you better off just change the action combat game to CSgo.

melee is much harder to play without pocket heals.

playing ranged feels less involved and much less satisfaying to get a killing blow.

get killed by few ranged in diff direction feels very bad, as u have almost no counter play or runaway.

game should really do is nerf the broken healing so that melee are not so dependent on healing, then adjust melee and ranged dmg accordingly.

Right now, solo melee is almost gone extinction as its too much risk and low reward.

you either go 5man war stack or ranged, nothing else.

but in a casual pvp mode, play 5man war stack is actually cheating, at least i feels that way
and play ranged feels not invovled and super bored

I’ve said this for over a year, the overpowered healing in this game makes it near impossible to balance this game properly.

I believe they balance the melee class with a healer in mind. But most people don’t have friends to heal for them.

Most people’s friends are now playing other PvP games or PvP oriented MMOs.

which is why nerfing a weapon someone has used since beta into the ground, is the worst move the dev’s could have made. “Lets make some players favorite weapon unenjoyable. Maybe then their friends will come back” - some AGS dev probably.

I played a couple of games of OPR earlier as a bruiser and didn’t have any issues, to be honest.

Now that you guys got everyone else nerfed, there is no one around to help you? Good for you, you reap what you sow. Enjoy having to farm or buy 6million + gold from RMTs to get your new loadout!

Yeah I returned to the game and saw how bad it was. There was zero melee players. This game went from ok to out right terrible.

You realize bruisers have been steadily nerfed hard every few months since the game released? And that this time they just slapped all melee besides rapier (reverted) and spear (they keep buffing this for some reason).

At this point more than half the weapons aren’t competitive for open world, group pvp. Str melee specifically is on the mat.

We actually need massive buffs to lifestealing across the board. Ring plus weapon should be 11% each. Runeglass leeching should be doubled and .2 second ICD (same as refreshign move).

But the ranged argument is “they have to aim”

Aiming is much easier than landing easily telegraphed attacks. I don’t think they want to realize that landing an ability on bruiser is impossible against good dex, and if they do they have a paired escape weapon.

Dex do that much damage with ONE weapon. Bruisers have to use two to deal comparable damage and that leaves them with minimal chase and escape.

and yet even now their survive ability is even
Less than a dex or mage.

project travels much faster than you can run.

aiming at clumb is no brain job, even if u failed there is no consequence to u bcuz u are at 40m away.

i can just sit on 2nd floor of sun and pewpew or spawm fireball/pillar to clumb without any consequence.

for a melee go jump on someone, if you failed to land attacks then u are in big disadvantage now, because u selfrooted and animation locked urself, and got in a danger position.
ANd if u used ur mobility skill to jump then u have no mobility skill to runaway.

light melee def feels much sweaty than ranged to play before patch, but its rewarding and feels satisfied when u hunt some ranged down.
now light melee light much much harder when theres full load of ranged and aoes.
you only got 3 dodges and u better pray your enermy has bad bad aiming.

Don’t forget the amount of stamina they have to expend to even begin to hunt down a dex or mage, while they are getting to just unload.

Damage and healing need to be towned down across the board.

Damge is so high the with out the healing you can’t do anything.

The game might also have a bit of a debuff problem too. In a fight you just get so many and it make the damge flux like crazy.

I don’t think the damage is that bad when you play range. You don’t really die unless you get caught off guard.

Range do just enough damage to be dangerous to healers.

However, melee probably need some extra protection or something. A pocketed GS can be kind of scary, but that’s about it.

What sense does it make to squirrel off to try to kill that musket or bow or fire mage that is 30+ meters away. When you have a point to secure and hold to win the match. That’s sounds like a reasoning issue. One that in my other MMOs that I regularly do large scale PvP in. Will make all the mission-oriented groups not want to invite you to play with them.

It probably aint to bad for ranged players do to having distance between you and the opponent

But as a melee more specifically a bruiser perspective you just get hit more often to were you can’t keep up with the heals.
