Bow, Musket, FS and IG should get a great debuff damage on target at 5 ish meter, doesn’t make sense they self cast pillar and over dps your melee attack
They should just remove the slow from end of medium dodge to help bruiser mobility and adjust refreshing pilar of fire just a litle bit (maybe like 20-25% on weapon perk) to not get < 1sec pilar of fire cd on wars. Firestaffs are doing crazy 3-4m dmg numbers in wars atm and it’s bit out of control. Not too worried about bows, maybe small nerf but those are only thing countering fs atm. This is war not opr perspective.
For opr they should just do close quater opr map to just give melee some edge. OPR map we have atm favours ranged too much even if the balance between weapons would be fine.
50% of melee damage lol? Be zero range left at that point . I like the suggestion above if they do nerfs take it small steps at a time . I think melee will become powerful again in this patch as more and more players switch back. Already seeing it on several servers
I’m not sure which range person can out dps a melee up close . Prolly running wrong build if that’s the case or running a 300con build that just isn’t made to be doing tons of dmg . And is much harder to hit with a range weapon when the enemy is up in your face . Lockdown from melee is real
Granted …traditionally in this genre it’s expected that Mage and Ranger (assassin) would be more powerful than Melee. Because it’s a RPG and a PvE stylized based game and that’s simply how this genre originated. In fact “Sorcerer” was and is usually the highest DPS in most of games of this style. Range or mage got absolutely shat on before this patch due to mechanics, and in 1v1 they still do unless its a top tier player on the range/mage end.
NW should of went more traditional with attributes. CON needs to add resistances to everything also instead of just uping HP and relying on flat armor rating and gems, allowing bruisers to get a bit more damage negation.
Melee players need to get good. Melee still has infinitely more utility than ranged does when it comes to CC and damage.
What AGS did with this patch is shown who are actually bad at melee. They relied too heavily on easy cast CC skills that had way too high damage. They’ve raised the skill floor for melee to match ranged and people don’t want to adjust.
while they did raise the skill bar for melee, they effectively lowered it for range. Range can now shoot at players and even a 2 or 3 well timed dodge yet the melee is stam out while the range is kiting and killing melee who haven’t figure out that after patch you cant chase range without a healer. You have to literally object hump to LoS.
Where as before a well timed dodge would give shirking fort not the garbage version we have now but the version that allowed you to not stam out and take a few shots while closing gap and dodging only skills. Now if you dont dodge everything the amount of damage will kill you before you regain stam. So yes Range has become what melee was last patch. Shooting fish in a barrel.
Melee has been Meta for years, ranged for 2 weeks and all you brainless melee players losing their minds cuz now you can’t just run right up to players, take all the damage, then stun lock someone to death.
Learn to play like ranged players had to do for years, adapt instead of crying, or just leave the game that would be better.
Every melee weapon was broken as hell at times, you didn’t hear ranged crying like you tards.
The problem isn’t one bow. It’s 10 of them hitting you at same time, once again how melee was for years, even still if you have 3-4 melee running with each other they completely melt everyone.
Since the release of OPR it was the good melee premades that dictated how the match ended. Range and mage just stat padded damage while healers just overhealed the damage they was doing. While melees on the other would just gap close and blow you up in a few seconds. It was so boring and uninteresting that I hung up my New World PvP cap.
Like the other mindless skillet that was being carried by highly overtuned melee weapons. You people refuse to use your brains and adjust your builds to be successful.
The fact that there are still highly successful melee players in OPR these days. Is just a testament of how bad YOU are. Outside of some damage shave from bow damage, the balance in this game is now the best it has ever been. All the weapons are able to kill the other weapons. As long as both players have similar skill-level and gear status.
