??? do you think anyone would play pve in this game without any incentive/progress? the answer is no. People wouldn’t run dungeons to not get a single thing so why should pvpers have no incentive? Getting rewarded and progressing is part of the fun of an mmo in pvp or pve

Its funny. Some PVE players want mmo with out pvp and vice versa. Well boys most mmos do combine this 2 worlds since mmos genere do exists. Deal with it. If you cant stand other side maybe you are playing wrong game?
and pvp is ruined for too much pve grind, how fix that? just let pvp ppl do pvp like happens for example in ff14 and gw2, the second you just need to do a quest, and they have completely different talents ect, that’s the best way to make pvpers smile… pvp based on gear is always been bad, too much to balance, pvp with equity is better. See now: big guilds member with milions of golds are crafting with Elusive Fortification/resilience + perk or Freedom, the standard player have resilience + perk and it get owned, why? Elusive Fortification is broken, even with Light it need to take at least 10-15 arrows to get killed, people without just 4-5, but this is a completely different argument I guess… they just needed to make let ppl choose pvp or pve and not combine them.
Behind theirs actiosn there is no reasonable logic. They implemented 3 vs 3 arena to balance content dedicated for a group of 5 players. This is blowing my mind.
Another thing is they decided to ruin the experience of all the players in pve, pvp etc all the current activites just to adjust the 3 vs 3 which is the only one and separated content where those situations may have place.

Well fact is that 3 vs 3 is ideal to balance whole comabt system.
With smaller group you are missing a lot of variables and with bigger you have to many of them.
I think if combat can be ballanced in 3vs3 it will work for smaller scale and bigger scale to. Some bigger mods like wars might require some special potions that will grand some buffs but it should be easy to do.
If 3vs3 will work well, then 5vs5 will work well to. 1vs1 will never be balanced since its impossible task so no point trying to do it.
So explain to me please. If from your point of view if 3 dps focus and attack 1 person is the same for a haler to keep that 1 person alive like if it was 5 dps attacking the same person? in first scenario the guy will recieve, 3000 damage per second and heal outcome will be balanced to heal 3000 per second, what means it’s lets say perfecty balanced for 3 vs 3 scenario. But in the other situation income dmg gonna be 5000 per second and healer outcoming heal is balanced for max 3 dps 3000 heal per second. How do you see that, thanks to 3 vs 3 you may properly balance 5 vs 5 which the game currently is designed for and exsists in 90% of the game content?
The same is with defence. Light armor may boost your defence enough to survive 5 hits in 3 vs 3, but in scenario of 5 vs 5 those defence wont be enought to let you do your job as a front line melee dps for example, because incoming dmg gonna be so huge (66% higher), that those light armor will not help you. So for 3 vs 3 its gonna be ok, but for 5 vs 5 you may need to use heavy to get the same survability.
It’s something like this. You were using a glass to keep a water with temperature of 50 degrees without using gloves, just touch it and the glass was enough to don’t let you feel the high temperatore of the water. And then you did the same, but water temperature grow up from 50 degrees to 83 (66% more) and you started screaming because it hurt you, the glass wasn’t enough to protect your hand from the tempearature, but you gonna say but how is that possible if my glass was perfecty balanced to the temperature of 50 degress.
Why 1 heales should keep alive 1 person that is attacked by 3 players? It should not. It should buy some time for the team but thats it.
You kinda forget that if we talk about 5 vs 5 scenario where like 3-5 dudes attack 1 dude wont happen. You are missing 4 dudes from other team. They supose to be afk? Nope. And normaly if any1 is attacked by 3-5 players he dies. Depends on skill lvl of all players - he might buy some time or even run away, but mostof the time attacked player dies.
And right now healers do break this. Thats why all the nerfs. Since you need 3+ other players to balance 1 healer.
What kind of skills they gonna use to protect a person from receiving burst damage? Do we play the same game?
Its on that person to not die why keeping busy this 3 players. Meanwhile your team job is to kill 2 remainig enemy player since you are 3 vs 2, while 1+1(healer) are vs 3 enemies. Its skill game. Heales as a class does not change output fo this fight. But what he does and when does matter.
Idea that 1 healer should keep 1 player alive when he is taking dmg from 3other players is just broken. 1 healer should outheal any 1 dps by like 20-30% and thats it.
It’s not just about healing, i showed you few examples. If the defence of a player is going to be balanced for 3 vs 3 the player with current defence abilities may escape somehow, survive the burst attack of 3 dps. But if you add 66% more dmg and more 66% more cc, those balance will not be enough and those escape posibility will never happend, because the incoming dmg will 1 shot that person in 1 second. I am saying, that you can’t have a proper balance of 5 vs 5, thanks to the results of 3 vs 3, its completly out of my mind, really.
1 vs 3 if skill lvl are close by is impossbile for any other build that healer.
You can win 1 vs 3 only when you are way superior in skill to this 3 players.
But when you are 1+1 healer vs 3 players right now results is almost always the same. 1dps + 1 healer do kill this 3 players. Saw it many times on opr, did it few times. Healers are just broken if player playing healer is very good.
And situations you describe where 5 players attack 1 player while his 4 teamamates do nothing cant happen. I mean maybe if you went opr together and then your friend went afk. But not in normal game.
And surviving 1 vs 3 is not that a problem. Dunno about all the builds. But my fs/ig i have no issue doiing that. Sometimes i die do this 3, sometimes i kill 1-2 of them and die. And rarly i kill all 3 of them. It all depends on players skills.

PvP Changes ruins pve which is all about group of 5 players and pvp 5 vs 5 thats the fact.
I dont think they ruin pve experience at all. But i dont run mutations so might be very wrong here. Dunno if you can play as light armor healer in m10 and have no issues. But if this is the case, then maybe m10 mobs just do to much dmg and should be turned down a bit? Its way simpler to do than balance pvp around pve.

Your statement is half right, I don’t care if any mmo has or not pvp, as long I’m not involved with, I don’t really mind. You missed the point of the whole discussion, that is, to accommodate pvp needs, some changes directly affect pve, such as wepon / armor stats and effects.

I agree with you pvp crowd should focus on pvp and pve should focus on pve. But I disagree when you used GW2 as an example, I played that game for 3 years straight and despite being a well designed game, the only thing that made me hate the game so much was the best pve gear being hidden behind pvp activity (WvW).

I didn’t pointed as a example the pve situation, but what i wanted to show may be aplayed also to pve. Because for example, they nerf healer casting time and heal power and defence to balance 3 vs 3 pvp, and because of that they ruined a pve gameplay for healer and all the group of 5 people wehre healer need to react very fast and keep alive not only himself but also a full group which getting extremaly fast and big damage from bosses and other monsters. Slow healer means more difficult gameplay for tank and dps. So theirs balance for pvp 3 vs 3 arena, ruin not only pvp 5 vs 5, but also a experience of a group of 5 people in pve.
too be clear I’m talking about pvp arenas, not WvW, I don’t really like WvW (too much pve), is a very cool feature but prefer arena. I have a friend who was in the first 3 in the world for using Thief so I started like more that. (and who is still badass here with bow rapier xD)
Factions aren’t just for pvp content. You lose out on buffs by not joining one. There’s nothing saying you have to flag or pvp to do pve content. Most don’t.
The factionless rant is more of a niche rp playstyle wish. You detract pve content for a refusal to join a faction to participate in available content the game has. Odd choice.
You dont have to join a company and if you join a faction you only really notice your color when you open your bio. You can turn off your own nameplate.
Should retitle that you want to rp as a factionless player. That seems to be your main gripe.
I disagree with most of this. I’m tired of people claiming they’re “only playing PvE” or “only playing PvP”. Why do people still try to split the game into pieces? New World is a game which tries to combine both worlds and that’s what makes it so fun. Simply accept the fact that you can’t strictly play PvE exclusively. If you do want that, you are looking for a Singleplayer or Co-op game. If you only want to play PvP, you are looking for a Moba or a shooter I guess. An MMO should feature and combine both, just as NW does.
