There is a lot of changes that could have been done to musket instead of making it a RNG weapon. Make it not register damage over 40-50 meters would be a good start. Musket players are already the squishiest class in the game so making them fight up close would be a blast and would require skill. Anything that has to do with RNG in PvP is complete trash.
If bow lose 30% of its base damage you only would have to play as a glass cannon.
High risk high reward my friend.
Bow players never heard of that and that’s why there’s 10 bow players every opr.
I generally agree with the idea of making it unusable past 50m but keeping it the same within but other musket players have complained and said they would just lose to other builds in that situation. Either way, musket is definitely the hardest to balance properly in the game.
If bow loses 30% of its damage, bow players switch to fire staff doing slightly less damage than before while having an easier time hitting abilities. ![]()
The problem is actually that, players switching to every weapon that is easier and stronger.
New World’s biggest triumph is this changing weapon method and its biggest mistake at the same time.
But trust me bow is strong enough it should get some more nerfs aswell it was the top 2 OPR ruiner coming just after musket.
The weapon doesn’t have a toxic gameplay as musket but bow is so easy to play that everyone uses it.
Theres OPRs that you can see about 15 bow players and this is a complete madness.
You do realize if OPR is unenjoyable because certain builds are more popular that the game developers can look to change the game mode/map and not the weapons themselves, right? Look at faction wars, for example. Bows are not utilized anywhere near as often as other builds. If you go into arenas, weapons like the blunderbuss are just outright way better. Certain weapons/builds do better in different game modes, so pointing to how many people use bow in OPR doesn’t mean the weapon is crazy overpowered…
Actually not.
In my region bows are very used in wars and they deal alot of damage with most of the kills.
In arenas bows are strong not the strongest but still one of the best.
In OPR it is completely overpowered.
And actually is the only weapon that can fit in everygame mode and be effective.
If you look that way musket didn’t even needed a nerf.
It is weaker than bow in wars.
It is weaker than bow in arenas
It was only superior in OPR.
And look what they did to the weapon.
People count bow as “oh but you have to time out the projectile to hit someone”
They forget about using 150~200 constitution + having all the animation cuts possible in the game + having alot of haste + dealing an absurd amount of damage + having thousands of good weapon combinations.
Do you get it now? ![]()
I don’t care what region you are from, you have more bruisers/healers/void gauntlets and potentially blunderbuss in your 50 man war roster than you do bows. I don’t know what kind of vendetta you have against bows, but you are just being hyperbolic and using a poorly balanced/constructed game mode to spew hatred on a weapon that would literally never be used if the changes you want were ever implemented. Get off your high horse and actually think about what balance truly entails.
If you are gonna go hustle i’m gonna go to.
Looking on your comments and how you manage to think about balancing i can see that you are one of the noob bow players that stay from 40 meters shooting arrows and say “oh nerf musket it is too strong” when you play on their advantage.
You don’t know anything about pvp and that’s it.
Bow should be more nerfed period.
Oh my lord here he is the monster of pvp.
Posting clips of your 1v1 battles with a weapon that hit 5k damage per hit.
Lemme tell you that i can do what you do with musket with less constitution and better plays.
When you learn something about pvp you can come to me again ![]()
Thanks for the laughs hahahaha
Hahahaha yes thanks for the laughs too.
Try to use musket from short range using 50 con and still making 1v2/1v3s.
Posting a highlight video where you solo some noobs on opr is pretty easy and my friend that started on the game 1 month ago can do the same ![]()
Dont think third shot should be cancelable. Here is why, That would give bow to much mobility Heavy shot into rapid 2 arrows o middle of animation enemy is to close i’ll dodge last minute of 3rd into dodge light attack or right into pen shot. way to much burst in such a small window. It would be the BB at further range. That ability is high risk high reward you should not be able to cancel 3rd shot if so I would like to dodge roll out of Burnout. You see once you start down that road everyone is going to want a cancel for some ability. So no it should stay either take the skill or use another. It has its pros and cons.
“You see once you start down that road everyone is going to want a cancel for some ability.” Exactly. Pillar of fire on the fire staff had its animations shortened and damage applied faster in addition to the fire staff receiving various damage buffs. All I’m asking is for the bow to also have 1 animation lock removed to what it was prior to balance it with the changes the fire staff received. Your logic is 100% accurate.
I actually wanted to make the exact same post, now that the stagger is removed there is really no need for the animation lock.
I already hated that nerf/change since I don’t think making a weapon clunky is a right way to balance it…
