Rapier only Vs. someone who’s considered top Valhalla GA/hammer player.
I think the guy is a complete clown (but that’s a whole other discussion), but ill still give him props for being a good player. A series of mistakes at the end (1:30 mark and onwards) cost me the duel, otherwise, I’d say I dominated the first portion of the fight. I Misplayed when he was 10% allowing him to get away and regenerate health.
There is this myth that rapier is a semi offensive high skill cap weapon. This fight demonstrates some rapier mechanics/animation cancel, also how to use evasion I-frame in real combat. Also how to move and anticipate incoming key abilities like GA reap. In any case, just shows that rapier is more than a purely defensive weapon. Also, I didn’t mean to have my mic on.
Also demonstrating the basis for ‘skill cap’. Few mistakes can lead to getting 3 shot.
High skill cap is a bit of a stretch to describe ANYTHING in this game.
Well played all the same, though I hope you acknowledge that the highest mobility weapon in the game naturally has an advantage over other melee.
As feared by my predictions 13 months ago, melee combat has largely changed to just trading cooldowns and then disengaging until cooldowns are back up. Sad times.

or should this game be balanced around duels.
