Beyond the constant bugs, new bugs I now get latency. Oddly my ping time to everywhere else in the globe is lower than my usual server.
I don’t think many would love this game.
I don’t love this game. It is OK. Trust me when I say I am def gonna be trying games like Elden Ring, Ashes of Creation when they come out. There is just not enough to keep me interested right now even with the patch.
of course we love a game full of bots!
Real talk, people still love wildstar, warhammer online, age of conan and many more MMO that had their servers shut down, it happens, and at this rate i would be shocked ASG keeps this mess going for 6+ more months
We can, just not for very long.
I think swimming would be nice but is by no means required. It would also be cool for armor weight value to influence this. But it isn’t the priority right now.
look in a mirror and you will definitely see one staring back at you
no I just don’t take casual players pov’s because they are usually wrong and putting out misinformation.
lol, well your name is accurate to your posts. NUB indeed. you must be some solo player that no company wants, or in a small company that hasn’t accomplished much in this game. Who is crying about expertise at this point? Still? LoL. They should give expertise bumps for Wars and OPR in more frequent ways. What are you whining about for this patch anyways?
a brilliant post. <3
i still like the game but will stop playing completely. lately i’ve only logged in for CDs. i refused to play all day by running around to gather and mine and compete with bots so i can make enough to pay for the taxes? no way. i grind in real life and not in mmorpgs. have fun for those of you who are still having fun.
I stopped gathering/mining after awhile. I make money selling orbs or smelting cool downs. Also crafting shards from dungeons sell well rn. Being on a high pop has it’s cons and pros. This is why we need cross server LFG finders.
I have been waiting for a game to come out that does not bore me instantly and is not an expansion to an old dinosaur of a game.
As a new player to New World, I have discovered that I can’t wait to get back in and start playing. I’m level 32 now in about two weeks and the leveling is not insta 80 like in WoW. I want to earn my levels and I want to be level 60 when I get through the content. I do not want to skip the content and I do not want to miss any dungeons along the way. I love how the game looks and feels. Combat feels solid to me but I am by far no pro. I have been playing video games since Space Invaders first came out in an arcade box. I have owned Atari when it first came out, and yet, I get owned in pvp all the time. I am no pro but I love this game so far.
The bugs are a disappointment but one day later and the development team is patching. That’s pretty impressive to me as far as work ethic goes.
Overall, I still have a very positive feel for this game despite my personal complaints. I like the design of it, the combat is especially fun so far, and I love the crafting despite the constant need to have to farm iron. Seriously could use more iron nodes in the world at the very least, but I would take mounts over all of the complaints I have listed just because mounts were my favorite feature of WoW. I love that there is housing in this game too. The housing in ESO is better and I hope that the development team will take some pointers from Bethesda on housing and furniture designs. Housing is a big deal to me. I played EQ for years and when they gave us housing I would spend hours just messing around with new ways to set them up. Then when Landmark started (major disappointment that it died), I would build some amazing building. I wish that game would have launched. Anyhow I digress, this game has a lot of potential and I hope that it doesn’t sink. I have been waiting on a new game for years!
Ya it’s not a race. Enjoy the game at your own pace. I would recommend getting stonecutting and smelting to 200. They both keep me afloat money wise. What helps my personal burn out from the grind is playing Dying Light. Playing more than one game helps keep me away from entitlement/obsession that will lead to toxicity.
I am really happy for those who like/love the game, that is great! But games are businesses, they don’t exist on altruistic principles. It’s a product created to please as many customers as possible, to create as much revenue as possible. No game can please all, that would not be a realistic goal, but New World could have retained a lot more players from its original sale, would the game have been in a better state at launch, and also continuing on after launch. Players have not left this game because they liked it, but because they disliked the game enough to leave it behind, despite this market being starved of new big open world mmos.
Right now, I think the % of those really enjoying the game is lower than the % of those simply clinging on, and it’s definitely far lower compared to the % of players who have already walked away. For the business it is important to improve the game for those only clinging on. The others are happy as is, it’s great to have their support (and preferably their money spend on the cash shop), but it’s those in danger of walking away too, and those who may could be enticed back, who right now need the company’s attention.
A dwindling playerbase is not any game’s aim, so please, those who do enjoy the game, understand it is important for the unhappy to voice their displeasure, so that hopefully the game can see development to cater to their needs as well. Belittle them, silence them, ignore their issues with the game, the business will lose money, ie investment into its future, a future that those who love the game, clearly should have an interest to see secured.
Same goes for the pve and pvp playerbase - both need to be made happy in New World (and their own sub groups within), no matter your bias against a playstyle that might not be your own. More customers means more potential earnings via the cash shop.
I enjoy the game as a whole. The February bugs bots, and balance fixes will tell alot. For me personally, I like the crafting so hoping I wont get kicked out multiple times as I try to craft and I’m sorry but at high levels of crafting you should never fail lol but maybe that’s just me. Also would be nice not to have to complete with the bots for resources. I’ve already spoken about the taxes on another thread. Hope to see NW succeed. Over 700 hours and still counting.
I realized bots are inevitable in every mmo in the long run. So i many money via selling orbs or asmo. Mutated orbs at high levels e.g. 8 sold for 100k in Celadon I believe.
