Apparently that’s the only way to get through to these devs, since clearly they don’t play their own game. These changes they suggest further makes it more incentivizing for a musket player to sit stationary on a rock and shoot you at 100m. Isn’t that the thing that people complain the most about with the musket???
You cannot i-frame it on purpose. In order to do that you would have to be a mind reader. The shooter can just hold the shot until you roll, or catch you in any animation. It’s hitscan, the hit is instant, there is no way to see it coming and avoid it, unlike vs bows or mage weapons.
To say otherwise is just BS.
The point people are making is that there isn’t counterplay. But you are just nitpicking going oh but a bullet can be iframed (on accident). That’s not what’s in question the question is if you can iframe it in response as a counterplay, you can’t.
This ^
Are you one to typically stay with/near the clump in opr? Be honest.
You mean possibly playing the gamemode as you should be? And not treating it as a TDM?
Just because they ADS doesn’t mean they have the shot lined up, or are ready to shoot it. If you dodge as soon as they ADS any half brained Musket will know to hold the shot. Bad advice.
What other reason would they have to turn and ads while you are chasing them lmfao
Aimbot is not included in the base game. So that means when they ADS they have to take the time to line up the shot. Not everyone does that at the same speed. So again, if you are dodging based on seeing them ADS you are still just making a guess when the trigger will be pulled.
So if you do it before they’ve fired, now they are definitely just going to wait for the end of your roll animation when you are locked and not moving and get a easy hit. Rolling too soon is a death sentence because it just makes it easy to land on you, same goes when I fireball people at the end of their roll because they can’t do anything about it.
I don’t understand whats hard to understand about what he said. Use your shift, sure. You’re not a mind reader though…it’s completely possible that you’re just going to whiff and waste Stam.
Unless you’re telling me that us humans should be able to react to hitscan
Any time anyone even brings up aimbot in any discussion about a weapon’s balance I’m going to generally disregard it, yes. Cheating is an entirely different discussion altogether and almost never happens. People that think aimbot is common in new world just need to get a clue.
2-3 Muskets in voice comms are only an issue if they are sitting 100m away from you otherwise its no different than getting 3v1’d anyways. Seems like you are more inclined to agree with me in my OP then where I am saying these changes they are making to the musket are awful because all they do is promote more stagnant passive 100m gameplay. I’m calling for an entire weapon rework. Hitscan is the only advantage the musket has over the bow, without it, it is a dead weapon.
Hey but at least you are dodging towards someone who has to backpedal at a slower speed to turn and shoot at you. Seriously who cares if you waste some stamina while chasing? You’re going to gain it right back while sprinting after them anyways.
Not entirely sure about the “almost never happens” assertion. I see plenty of people play (“Potato”/ “Roblox”) graphics mode, which is not allowed natively through in-game settings. Requires 3rd party software to brute force render/texture settings.
Removing foliage + bushes + grasses from the player environment is a huge advantage for any non-melee oriented DPS build.
I mean it’s natural to compare Musket to Bow since they compete for the same DPS slot in war.
Bow is heavily over-tuned in PvP and under tuned in end-game PvE.
Ignoring magic as a ranged option goes to show how unfinished / unrefined both “Ranged” dex weapons and “Magic” int weapons fit into the combat system.
Magic + Ranged are always discussed in tandem in all other role oriented games. Because magic is a threat to ranged and vise versa.
AGS reworking weapons for PvP and PvE balance is seemingly on the low-priority list. Visual cues to ally/opponent ground might make it into this upcoming January PTR to go live in February.
AGS has zero clue on how to make musket feel fair in PvP without removing its PvE open world power farming prowess.
Bow + Musket in PvE are only good for skinning profession. Utter garbage at anything that isn’t killing low hp trash mobs in PvE. The second it takes more than four or five shots to clear PvE trash mobs, you just find a tank to gather 4 - 10 mobs and melee cleave them with their backs turned.
My fault for using sarcasm. I was just reacting to you seeming to think if someone ADS’s it means they are immediately on target and ready to click. I wasn’t accusing or suggesting anything about cheating or cheaters.
Sarcasm doesn’t communicate well over text, and I can really only speak from my own experience, but when someone is chasing me and I turn around to shoot them while I’m running away, I generally hit the 5m away target.
The only reason why I am making the comparison to bow is because they scale off the same main stat, dex. Magic weapons also have plenty of AOE/Mobility/Single target abilities. The musket only has single target and it’s very clunky/very slow dps in comparison.
In my OP I advocate for reworking the musket to put it more in line with all the other ranged weapons, not bow specifically. But as it stands, these changes the devs suggest are awful and only promote sitting on a rock at 100m.
Removing foliage + bushes + grasses from the player environment is a huge advantage for any build, not just musket. And I would also simply say that even without those changes (which I do not use) you can attain the same effect with the musket by simply just aiming relative to where the health bar of the enemy is.
So, what do we call that rapid fire musket exploit you were using for weeks?
You’re aware that there are means of creating distance other than dodging right?
They’re also faster than you because of their haste. It’s not hard for them to creat the room to be able to shoot you.
Just checking. Thanks for the answer.
