It is a bit odd that wars have everyone stand on a tiny point in a blob.
What if, instead of having to take 3 points before the gates could be destroyed, the gates had massively increased health and could immediately be attacked and destroyed.
But, the attackers would have these special cannons that dealt extra damage against the gates. These cannons would be very limited and when destroyed, could not be rebought. Meaning that these cannons would be the main way the attackers would deal damage to the gate and could have a low max ammo count. If the attacker ran out of cannons then they would have to resort to slowly witling away at the gate with normal attacks or using powder kegs.
Instead of the 3 points being required to destroy the gate, maybe points could be placed in key points on the map and when captured give the team that captured them the ability to respawn from the point and would give everyone on the team an income of battle tokens or parts.
This would give players the main objective of attacking or defending the cannons and holding or taking the fort, and the points would be side objectives to gain bonus respawn points and battle tokens for an advantage against the enemy team.
