Please feel free to give your input on this idea regarding longevity of economics and materials.
I wont write anything in-depth, i just want to put the idea out there to discuss,.
In the late end game, everyone is done crafting what they need, wouldn’t it be good to give players an option to donate the materials to an NPC rather than selling it to the Trade Market, i have already noticed that the iron ore is declining fast in price, on our server, Last week it was 0.38 per iron ore, today its already down to 0.22.
To prevent all the materials to go down to low as 0.01 coins e/a would it not better to add an NPC which changes rotation every week which kind of materials he want for some boxes with cosmetics, paints, furniture thats exclusive to the NPC.
Freemium Boxes - For materials that you have in abundance rather than putting it on the market for 0.01 gold each piece.
Premium Boxes - For In game Tokens (real cash flow)
This is just an idea, so no “are you stupid” comments please. Share you opinion about it… to me it would be nice to have a gambling aspect available for the people who wants it and loves cosmetics and loot boxes.
I think that given then amount of crafting that is required to max each crafting type level, it will be a long time until what you are talking about does become an issue. Also consider this, basic materials go down in price also because of the amount of people gathering them. So on your server, my assumption would be that you are towards the top end of players level and gear wise. There are probably way more players gathering low level mats, with less people who actually want them. After a month or two, this imbalance of demand and supply will balance out, then it will be easier to get a grasp on what you mentioned. That’s my opinion on the matter.
I’ve noticed the same thing, and I honestly don’t know how many people are going to stick around for 3 months waiting for things to balance out. We definitely need some way to get rid of surplus materials besides throwing them on the ground, even if it’s temporary and the vendor NPC gets removed in 3 months if the balancing out actually happens.
The only thing I don’t agree with, and maybe I’m misunderstanding what you’re getting at, but I would prefer to keep any real cash flow outside of the game. So, no premium boxes please.
Something like this yes, but just one that might put the whole system in unbalance.
Because doesnt that affect Wars?
We dont want it to become Pay 2 Win, we just want something to dump the extra materials in for cosmetic rewards (that dont affect the gameplay) In my opinon.
Yes, the premium boxes are just extra… like, premium skins and such that you can get from just that lootbox - It wont change any gameplay, its just cosmetics that you can get from that.
All of the things that the NPC will give you is purely Cosmetic. But you buy them with the tokens that you buy for real money.
