Hello to you all,
First of all I’d like to thank all of the staff ramping up the communications on the forum, it’s been nice to be able to be up to date in order to not feel left out. The game might be on a rough moment but reading the posts gives some kind of comfort.
I would like to discuss three (right now minor) concerns I got here.
1. Forum
My very first post on this forum was back in closed-beta. There I talked about how this forum is not manageable or user-friendly.
Today, I still remain on the same side. In closed-beta I could keep track of all the posts via “Latest”. It was hard, but do-able. Right now with all the users playing the game and the multiple users using the forum, I consider myself not able to keep track of the threads and interact with the community.
My very first suggestion was to make a forum-based feedback category so we can start submitting changes we would like to see in order to make the forum a more user-friendly tool.
I didn’t talk about the lack of language communities because it was a closed-beta and I expected the forums to improve until the release, but I still see some communities left out in the forum.
I’m Spanish so I’ll give the example of the Spanish-talking community, but this is happening with others too.
Having a quick look on the server list the very game provides you can find the next data (if I didn’t fuck up):
FR/EN based servers: 16
DE/EN based servers: 48
PL/EN based servers: 5
ES/EN based servers: 31
IT/EN based servers: 6
There are 31 servers online ES/EN based, yet no official news Spanish category. No general discussing Spanish category. No bugs/exploits Spanish category. No game feedback Spanish category.
From the 7 categories the forum has, only 1 has a Spanish section.
From the 4 user-opened categories the forum has, only 1 has a Spanish section (the same one).
I find this completely unacceptable and I think you’re loosing A TON of information the community has to offer you.
I manage the Syndicate discord of my server and while I do not mind translating and keeping up to date my mates, there is still a major percentage of players that are not on the loop and can’t find information by themselves because they do not know English, mostly since these players are mid-aged people and did not have or can’t learn English. This last “point” brings me to the next two:
2. APIs
While Luxendra already answered a previous post:
And while it’s obvious that this shouldn’t be your priority, I feel like I need to bring up this matter again and now that the Staff is being more open about communications maybe you could share thoughts or plans on this.
3. In-Game Staff Lack
We all know, noticed and suffered the lack of servers on the first days. If I’m correct in the first 24h you doubled the number of servers deployed (I don’t remember if globally or only EU but I’m certain of the numbers). And some days after you still kept deploying servers.
I think no one expects to see a Game Master right now on their server if it’s not one of the “main” ones, but I see this so necessary.
Are there any plans on introducing/ramping up Game Masters or any form of “rank” of "Helper"s?
Like I said I manage the Syndicate discord of my server so I’m kind of up to date on the news about New World and I try to make sure that my whole server knows what’s going on because we have a good environment going on, but you always find the stupid group of people reporting you for “spamming” when you are only trying to inform.
That’s all I got to say, maybe someone said it already, maybe not.
If you made it here, thank you for reading!
