@Kay While I am not asking for a reimbursement myself. Isn’t it kinda bad form to give compensation only to companies that own territory? I understand that those fees are far higher than my taxes, but really shouldn’t you have just froze taxes and fees if you are giving one part of the community compensation?
I mean companies still getting compensation while we still pay them taxes. While it may not be popular you are picking favorites here.
I think that this may well be the first MMO I have played where players in general have not been compensated in some way big or small for inconvenience and loss of game functionality. Heck, I’ve even played some that give out small tokens of good-will just because of regular maintenance outages.
Can I respectfully level with the team here? I appreciate the work you do, and thank you for all of it. BUT
You’re compensating the territory owners, but not the entire player-base who didn’t cheat or exploit?
The games economy is based around the trading post, so when that gets disabled, it needs to be assumed that players income is also stunted in a large amount. There needs to be compensation for those who
Had items on the TP that costed money to put on the TP because these expired during the freeze. Money wasted.
People who own houses who have to pay taxes… The game itself does not earn you sufficient gold unless you are using the TP.
In general think about your player base who didn’t exploit and have stuck with you through this. Please honor that.
I have to agree with you. Taking a line from their own CoC play fair. Selecting one group for compensation and not others is not playing fair. Their own CoC states that we need to be inclusive but from what they do they aren’t willing to fully follow their own rules.
lol, how about pain and suffering too? they’ll probably hire for game masters too, but not one-per-server, maybe one per like 10 or 20 servers, but primarily accidental ban control, in-game issues, and then on the other side, authoritative server project.
There’s no subscription model so they may not provide too much in-game people, but the other two staff departments are easy to achieve to save the game base, and have relaunch potential.
the thing is that gold that companies lost is nowhere near as comparable, losing 50k between 100 players is much less impactful than someone losing 2-3k who is not in a company that owns territory.
It’s called Amrine. People like it. It’s fast. If ur a pro, 1200 gold an hour is salvage + quests + eventual postings.
But just casual, 600. Gold problems solved forever. You’re welcome.
Amrine is nearly guaranteed to run on all servers at all times. If ur server at any time is not running Amrine, start a thread. thanks. (in loving memory of Amrine, and the companies dedicated to her, the savior of gaming, 2019.)
Do they not get our taxes from property, trading post, and crafting stations? If they do why is it only fair that they get compensation and no one else should? Do our fees not go into the territory owners coffer?
My main question for them is why only target a select group of players for compensation while still leaving timers on for everyone else?
I have enough on my character to cover my fees for a while that’s why I’m not asking for reimbursement for myself. But the fact that they are only targeting a part of the player base is just wrong. I make enough from town boards and faction quests daily to cover my taxes in like 2 days of playing.
Over the last 2 freezes players have been penalized by the loss of trading post fees and also having to spend azoth to fast travel when their houses have expired and were unable to pay the housing tax… its great you are attending to the economy of the game, but as players we shouldn’t be penalized… rough guess… over the last 2 TP freezes i have lost probably close to 1k azoth and in a vicinity of 500 gold in lost TP taxes… not to mention the income i lost from things that sold in the TP and never made it to my account… that would have been 2000-2500 gold… these accumulated losses considering how little resources sell for in the tp amounts to a lot of played time… you need to consider how that makes players feel
sadly quitting does not make them care, you bought the game up front and no required payments. If everyone quit today and they shut down the servers probably make a hefty profit as they do not have to pay for the servers and development anymore LOL
The problem is, for me at least, that they stopped to care about anything. Community Managers not doing their job and I really don’t know why. Everything seems so random to me. The statements, the shutting down with late communication, that you even have to beg them that they would compensate something which is their fault in first place. I don’t get it anymore and the worst for me, there is nearly no hope or trust left. I like the game, it was fun for a while and I enjoyed leveling and crafting but it’s feeling like a toxic relationship by now.
