Overall, I am having a lot of fun with the music trade skill! However, in the process of collecting pages I am noticing an unfortunate trend that makes it more monotonous than it needs to be.
The problem is that a sizable number of pages are never available in the Trading Post on my server. Given that not everyone enjoys the music mode and you can sell rare pages for really good coin, I am guessing that these pages are locked behind content like B&BP that hasn’t been released or they just have terribly low drop rates.
For instance, with guitar - the solo instrument option to play with the longest song list - there are a total of 18 pieces available. However, pages for Heartgem’s Burden, Moonlit Shadows, Path Less Traveled, Soulwarden’s Journey, Storm’s Past, These Old Bones and Young King Stanley are NEVER up for sale in the TP. Arrgghh!
With 7 of the 18 pieces being unavailable, you are stuck with a limited play list that gets repetitive really quickly and grates on both the musicians and the audience far more than it needs to. It also further limits the number of songs that can be played in the really fun group mode, as well.
This trend is repeated in the other instruments as well, with 2 missing for drums, 2 for bass, and 4 for flute.
No one wants to hear Windsward Inn on continuous loop - please release the missing pages!!
And more music down the road would be awesome, as well! Holiday carols, more cool New World adaptations and originals, licensed options from the Amazon Music service catalog, yes please!
These pages aren’t missing. They just drop from specific places and times of the day.
I.e. the Moonlit Shadows only drops at dusk from chests and crates. The Heartgem’s Burden only drops from crates and enemies in Amrine Temple.
And I’m glad they did it this way, makes you rediscover places and collect lots of mats. Plus it gives you that rewarding feeling when you get it and get to try it out.
And yes! I’m sure there will be more music in the future and I’m excited to hear them all
Yeah, the Young King Stanley page 1 drops randomly in the world, it’s page 2 that drops in Rabbit Island. And lots of different pages drop in Amrine, but Heartgem’s Burden doesn’t drop outside of it.
Hey, could you please post the page names that dropped in places that aren’t listed on nwdb? While all drop locations that are shown on the site are correct, there are indeed a few locations that may be missing.
Edit: manually checked all the Rabbit Island pages. They 100% only drop there (some drop from aptitude boxes, not sure if aptitude levels are yet enabled on live). So yeah, if anyone says they got those pages outside Rabbit Island, it’s either bs, or they had a bug related to location tracking (but that one would most likely break things in more noticeable ways).
