I said heavy healing should be adjusted. I never said to gut the living fuck out of it. I would rather see counters introduced as I’ve stated before, I’d rather see an obsidian gem introduced that gives attacks a plagued bleed that does damage based on physical resist and gives a 20% disease. On a weapon it would apply a 20% disease to enemies. I only said if not these counter buffs then an adjustment. Never said to gut it.
Only reason I am pro GA adjustment is because it is a bit overtuned, slightly. The best counter to Grav Well is not aping. Personally if it wasn’t for other people I’d say leave it but obviously people don’t like it. So it will be changed.
I am not the entire community, I am but one in the community. So my opinion has to conform at least slightly.
A lot of my opinions are based on the META being in a very bad spot. As I’ve stated multiple times, in comparison to the ideal META I would advocate for; healing is overtuned while health pools are low. Actual DPS is pretty useless due to heals out healing DPS and insta healing the biggest burst damages in the game creating these one shot builds that are very successful and the META is one shot or LMB spam til a healer makes a mistake.
I would like to see health pools increase while healing is slightly adjusted to fit damage so it becomes more of a consistent damage to weaken and burst to kill META allowing some straight DPS builds to shine while burst is still valid.
In regards to DPS minus Grav Well, maelstrom is the only normal high damage dealing ability around 3 to 4k total against medium armor folks, I think around 5k to light users. If you don’t run GWell that’s the only thing it has besides animation cancelling for a double hit with charge. Hatchet Spear and WH have better DPS in regards to normal attacks.
Great Axe just has built in lifesteal to make it seem like you’re doing more damage than the opposition. You’re mainly sustaining better. A keen vicious leeching GA with Smoothe Bone ring leeching is nasty when it comes to lifesteal. Health not updating regularly probably makes this mechanic of GA very elusive.
Same - I’ve just finished levelling my GA and am currently crafting the few pieces of str gear that I didn’t get as dungeon drops. I liked playing a mage but you can only overlook the devs’ favoritism towards GA users for so long before you realise you’re throwing by playing with anything else.
Not really since dodge was stealth nerfed in the PTR & Stam nerf you can barely escape the radius without burning your whole stam bar if in medium/heavy.
