Dude, I don’t know if you’ve played GA before, but GA’s normal hits are only effective if the opponent is standing still
You can easily avoid GA’s hits by simply pressing the “W” key.
In GA, you need to Dodge+LMB to normal hit someone who has escaped.
Yes, logically from the beginning I had to make a GA build since being melee it is “mandatory” to carry one.
Suppose we keep all the abilities as they are now, but just change that Gravity Well can no longer be cast from a distance but would be more like the Oblivion mechanic. I think that would be correct.
Are you trolling? The GA literally gets 20% speed boost just by looking towards enemies. It can easily run down anyone who can’t quickly get out of the 15m range. Something like a rapier can make that distance, but if the GA is smart and just holds charge there is no escape.
So you agree with me? You’re saying the GA is on a tier above every other melee weapon. Ergo, it’s OP.
The issue is ranged weapons have been balanced around the OP GA chase down ability. If we balance the GA, we can balance the rest of the game.
It’s crazy that early on they obliterated the fire-staff and ice-gauntlet with 10+ nerfs each but have barely touched the GA. I do appreciate its homing distance is not longer then a light dodge roll anymore, but that’s basically it. Shame they will let the entire game continue to suffer so some lead dev can keep his favorite weapon OP.

You can do ridiculously high damage with medium armor (300/200)
Light armor 300/200 stat high damage high defans xD and not forgetting their Burn out and Entombed abilities so they can easily escape

You can throw all the ironic emojis out you want, that won’t change the fact that the GA has a free infinite 20% speed boost when looking towards enemies, which makes it incredibly easy to run people down.
If you can’t admit this obvious fact, it’s clear you’re too biased to have this discussion. You literally said you can escape from the GA “just by walking” but it will run up 20% faster then anyone walking away. How can you deny this?
I mean, it’s the same statement just a matter of perspective. Is the GA the “only viable melee” as you said, or is it OP? Either way, we are both saying the GA is significantly better then every other melee weapon. Whether you call the others under-powered or the GA over-powered doesn’t matter. That’s just semantics.
Right bows are hitting players for 3-4k from 80 meters. Sorry but that’s not normal. Whats normal is the bow player is around 20 -25m and hitting GA player for 1.2k maybe crit for 1.8k. Unless you got rend and or under 30% health. The GA player trap light armor player in GW and kills him by himself.
I just did this with a GA player yesterday on IP beach. I won some and he won some. When I won it took a long time mostly being carried by spear. When he won he got me in a GW and I was dead in seconds. Literally chunked me for 8/10ths of my health before I got out and then he got me with one more hit.
This. Rework Grav Well. Replace it with a thrown axe skill of some sort that deals Void damage, but the current incarnation as a ranged AOE CC skill is ridiculously suffocating. No other weapon can compete.
CG, u by your own will chose path of resident sleeper over self improvement and overcoming. Lets do it everyone this way, and in few years we just watching cut scenes.

GW op not GA and GA’s most important difference from other melee classes is its GW capability.
Imagine a game without GW, you’ll only see Dummy melees trying to chase Range because range classes are way stronger than they should be.
Every time bow/musket dodge they play 10% haste 3s/
You already know Rapier 3 skills 100% survive
FS/IG Burn out, Entombed, Ice shower
In short, if GW is nerfed and GA is not buffed otherwise, the balance of the game will completely collapse and everyone will only play range class.
As I wrote before, if GW is nerfed, GA must be buffed as follows
but I can do it if they increase homing range detection from 3.5 meters to 4.5 meters
The shock wave will literally stun you and either the maelstrom or grav well will instant kill you due to rend 30% from shockwave. So please try again.
