REMOVE - 500 ITEM LIMIT - FROM STORAGE - Why do we have two item limits?

I fail to understand why we have two types of storage limits.

Thinking of ALL MMOS there, I cant think of any that has both limits:

  1. Number of items
  2. Weight

We can increase weigh # by buying a house and putting chests there, but not # of items?
There are SO MANY crafting mods, you keep adding them with each new “content,” there are so many types of material and other items.

Just remove the 500 item limit, we all know it’s just a bother, and it serves no purpose.

Personally I propose remove the weight limit, increase the unique item limit, merge all storage, and then make it so chests increase unique item limit.

That would remove pretty much any friction on the players end, at least in my opinion. Then just keep weight for your inventory for gathering and inventory management. Most MMOs use the unique item limit and for a reason.

With definitely was a cool concept, but it just didn’t really end up being that great when game moved to MMO mode. For survival sandbox it’s fine, especially when each town had it’s own unique economy and storage.

Moving it to weight only would be one solution but I personally think it would be a mistake compared to just going with unique item limit instead. Again totally my opinion. I just like the idea of not being limited and just being able to gather all day if I want to.

Side thought: One concern might be that storage limits do limit players from buying out materials and manipulating the economy more? Just had this thought. Then again they kinda already do this. But definitely an important consideration.
