Coming from a history of WoW, I was surprised that they let us respec in OPR. I understand it because they don’t fill for roles, but was surprised nonetheless. I like this idea tho!

To this day, GW2 is the most complete and well thought MMORPG.
I just played it for a lot of years and decided to give other games a chance.
I am not saying it’s better than New world. I’m saying it’s better in my opinion, and new world could learn a LOT from GW2

Open - any level, standardised weapons and gear, gear loadouts for light, medium, heavy. No gearscore, perks can be freely equipped to try different builds. Perks can be swapped when respawning.

You are looking for another system as excuse you are bad… you have scale to 600 they can change to 625 and nothing will change… difference is 4%. If you think this make you lose you are wrong… The best pvpers might win half naked, if they will coop. You wanted scale to so they added this system because it was annoying to have 550 GS players in your team for everyone… and they still do nothing… only pew pew through Sol doors. Check Nomisky build on YT and them come Barri and check by yourself how he smashes people in OPR as solo player you will still tell me that your gear matters? We need MMR to separate high skill players from those who dont care…
Although ranked and casual does sound like a good idea, I dont think new world has the player base to do that. Maybe on legacy servers if/when they add cross server queues.
Now you changed to desync, delay ms issues. Yes they are problem imo the biggest one. Currently its hard to play, you cant counter spear skwer or hammer CCs before you are stunned, knocked down before animation started or in the middle of his animation.
Besides the potion idea it would be really nice as long as we get to pick all the perks on the gear, otherwise your build would be pretty poo. But I wouldn’t be attached to my current gear anymore that’s on me, it would feel kinda useless to upgrade my own gear
It’s more about getting people back and giving new players a reason to play an MMO that has something for them. The game has lost so many players that they won’t consider coming back with meager tweaks to what’s there. AGS really need to open the game up in a way that is going to allow people to get in and experience OPR and 3v3 as well as wars straight away as these are the big draw cards.
Everyone I played with left because they could see what the game was and weren’t impressed. They would come back if they could just enjoy do some OPR, 3v3 and wars while they slowly levelled up their gear etc. but to lock everything behind the grind is what will ultimately kill the game. It might keep a core player base that keeps it going for a while but once they’re bored then that’s the end.
Totally agree with getting players back into the game. Many ppl don’t got the time like others to be grinding the game. Wars are pretty much the same companies and ppl fighting in every war even with the roster changes. Players without the proper gear and skill wouldn’t get slotted therefore leaving all the casual players out of war content.
People who want skill-based PvP in MMOs have other options on the market. People like that don’t play grinder MMOs. They play horizontal progression MMOs with standardized PvP.
Exactly is about bringing people back to the game. They join in with ‘scaled’ gear, out cc rotate someone but then get thumped and leave.
You say 600 to 625 is 4%? Then add runeglass so 2×8? So 4+16=20%? So 20% more damage and 4% more defence. Then you’ve got attunment traits. People look into the rng grind involved when all they want is pvp in this combat style.
There is no set progression even the azoth salt rewards and rng.
Best idea is casual (select any gear) and ranked pvp (current). But as said, there isnt the players. So it’s full circle back to bring in more casuals.
It’s about brining in more players because this game is bleeding to death. There is no content coming.
You can put runeglass everywhere and def difference in total is 2% + with runeglass u have 2,5% less def. If you are cheap to put runeglass its not game issue but yours.
I forgive you for english not being your first language. But you’ve missed the whole point of this continually. You are focused on as if this is the people posting in here, that have the problem with grind. How about you stop attacking people and give ideas somewhere on the forum to bring people back to this train wreck. Make it not a train wreck.
This is about having a faster entry point into pvp for casual because I am personally sick of playing against the same 10 other people. This game had 900k at launch. Now it’s laughable. Having to wait 30-40mins for que pop while each server maxes out at 1500 peak time.
So many quality of life things have been added to the game to reduce grind and entice people back. It’s time for pvp to get some love. But…
Amazon wont be doing anything pvp for 6 months. They have said they dont care for it now. So they have plenty of time to have meetings about doing work then implement something like this. They’ll also have plenty of time to enable cross server matching and smaller less ranged advantaged focused maps. Heck even delete current opr and make a new mode. Make a 3 way like 4v4v4 or 20v20v20. If they don’t do anything new. Who is going to left? You and 9 other guys waiting for a que pop dueling outside windsward.
At the release of brimstone the game felt alive. Now it feels dead because the casuals have gone. It’s headed back to 25k peak worldwide.
Game had 13-16k in peak worldwide and survived. Idea „ remove outside gear” has no joint with MMORPG’s gameplay… you progress you get better etc. OPRs are already casual modes, by building up taken comand post you get your free empowers fortify, zephyr’s cakes, battle breads also give you speed/sustain bonus. Its not MOBA or battlefield probably most of them arrived from. What problem you have ?Currently 80% of your gear you can get for free… Weapons with Attu+2nd perk you can buy for 2-3k. I played on FSS where 60th lvl I reached after 1 week with ~ 45k, I was pvp ready there toot sweet. There are no any magical perks which make someone immortal. In weapon you can have max 2 perks which boost your damage + 3rd as temporary buff or „damage over team”. I dont understand where is problem, if someone dont have 2 hours daily to just play all avaiable content then he should not touch MMORPGs. In the end People leaving because in reality there is nothing to do in this game, you upgrade your gear and you play OPR/Arenas, if you u play too much you get bored fast and further progression is pointless OWPvP is dead, if you want participate in wars you must join company and play with them for hours/day or join „casual war company” and be farmed near war camp everytime like it was on Jupiter. OPRs for melees got broken because of detonation rune ( thats my feeling) it has too high burst+ with last winter’s event patch game started lagging, desync, oponent’s animations show too late. You must understand what kind of game you play and what is it current state. This game has been relased too fast it was not ready for relased. Maybe it will become good in 2-3 years ( if it survives) if not well that happends, not my first MMORPG which fall.
even moba has huge gear difference,the so called “everyone should be equal” isnt even a fair
Why would it should be equal when there are more people investing time and doing more effort than those who doesnt do it?
Its really against the whole progression system,I can understand a casual mode can be like that since its not comptetive.
Nah moba has rather full equality it’s their feature ( but xd The only Moba I have ever played is LoL for 16 hours …) this kind of multiplayer games are not for me. GW2 as MMO also has this but same its not for me. I prefer this whole character progression from zero to hero thats why I stayed in New World and Albion Online longer. New World is my first MMO since very long time where obtaining gear is really simple and I will never understand such complains or calling this game grinder. Probably they have never played real grinder… but tbh those „grinders” keep huge community for a long time so doubt if they are bad…
If I can give you example,dota2 which is a moba gear makes a lot of difference. Your items can change whole combat and it should be like this,you will progress and will get the reward of it.
