Remove dmg bonus from light armor

They literally JUST made changes to light roll and it’s still the preferred load out in PvP. With how strong healing is and with his strong ranged are… Damage is king.

(Melee are still better in every way but if you’re not playing for burst, it’s a waste…
The mobility is just an extra, very nice bonus)

More mobility + more resistances than lighter armor with only dmg to compensate for the difference? Come on. Medium is already the strongest armor in the game lets not pile on.

but sure go ahead, ruin the game even more

I wouldn’t suggest these changes without other changes as well. I’m speaking now higher level goals / archetypes. Not just a quick swap.

pvp was ruined from planning stage. GL to balance and fix mess where every1 can wear anything

Why not? I can in literally every other mmorpg

Add Stagger resistance on heavy armor.

I should be able to play heavy dps

I should be able to play heavy dps healer ranger too

Why would medium weight class have more mobility than light? That makes zero sense.

Don’t think about sense. Think about fantasy archetypes and balance. If you want to talk about sense… That’s a deep rabbit hole.

Traditionally, in almost every fantasy RPG ever made, light class wearers are mages who do deadly amounts of damage but they were never mobile.

Rangers / thieves were traditionally the most mobile classes, in leather (medium). But they weren’t quite as devastating damage-wise as magic classes.

Then heavies of course we’re low damage, low mobility but tanky.

It makes no DESIGN sense to give the most damage and the most mobility to one armor load out.

Not many games have the robe wearers rolling all over the place and the leather wearers being less dextrous than mages…

no, in every other mmo someone with heavy armor is a tank and does no damage. they sometimes have ranged cc to catch other ranged people, but without a DD, the tank won’t kill the enemy.

also, even if that would be the case, thats not really a reason to do it here too, as the combat system in new world differs a lot to other mmos like wow etc.

also: if heavy armor deals more damage, then why even have medium armor? or light armor?
there needs to be a tradeoff. light deals more damage and has more mobility but pops like a balloon, medium has a bit of both worlds (dealing damage but also being able to tank a few hits before dying, giving you more room for error, but giving up mobility) and heavy armor takes less damage, cc durations are shorter on heavy armor, but you give up damage and mobility.

Ok, if you put it that way it actually makes sort of sense  With classic fantasy archetypes and cloth, leather, metal

But I also think light and medium could have same damage. But light can roll. And medium can hop + have more damage mitigation.

this post make no sense, all the forum make really noise about DPS and healer being focus on heavy set only, now they have made changes and adjusting thins you guys want to have those guys back.

They make light set with high damage/heal and less def, medium with good damage and average def and heavy good def, average damage and nerf healing.

High risk better damage and heal, medium risk medium damage, safe based damage.

The point is, you want to wear a heavy set and kill like a light set, this have no point at all.

The damage bonus for light armor applies before mitigation. Therefore, the damage difference between light armor and heavy armor is somewhere between 7-15% post-mitigation depending on what you are attacking. However, heavy armor provides nearly 20% more armor mitigation, which increases your effective health poll (health + armor mitigation) by 40% over light armor.

Your suggestion would only work if you gave light armor more dodges, like 5 or more. Otherwise, there would be no reason to play anything but heavy armor.

Fortify is also hyper effective for light though, it bridges the damage resistance between light and heavy pretty well. Obviously heavy still has more, but it’s not a huge magnitude.
I don’t really believe that the damage bonus should be taken from light. Heavy still does alot of damage, there’s not that much damage difference.

I dps M10s in heavy. It can be done - just like tanking can be done in light. It’s not optimum/easy to do, maybe - but it can be done.

Well, there’s at least 20% difference, which is pretty huge to me.

why have 3 difference weights at all then?

u recieve way less dmg, there for u deal less…

…This is just… This is a dumb suggestion.

Light armor is for glass cannons. IE you take more damage but you deal more damage. Please wear medium or heavy if thats your preferred playstyle. In most cases its probably better to lose the little damage increase for survivability anyway.

Takes Like this are just bad for the game. Please think more before giving suggestions like this.
