Remove Flagging Bonus + Suggestions

And that’s exactly my attempt on the other suggestion post I’ve made. No matter what, a pve player will never flag to do actual pvp, with cross servers, pvp players could actually care only for pvp and let the grinding for pve players, and to open breaches everyone could work together so everyone would be pleased.

I don’t disagree and really like the suggestions as open world PVP ATM is just for fun and no reward. Agreed that flagged chest runs end up with little to no PVP and the ones trying to PVP chest runners are accused of griefing but that’s largely because there is no reward to killing a flagged chest runner, just some repair cost for the runner and some wasted time. I think flagging for harvesting is good. On populated servers lots of people fight over ori veins because there is reward in less competition. Long and short flagging up should be rewarding but should also bring risk. PVPers should be properly rewarded for killing other flagged players.

Which you pretty much get when you’re wearing a harvesting/logging/mining/skinning armor set.

The bonus is there to offset being able to run around in gathering clothes.

Hell no. I enjoy beating on farmers. Its a PVP game not a PVE game. Deal with it or go play farming simulator

It’s completely insignificant in the face of aptitude chests, which are obtained faster by staying unflagged since you can’t be interrupted with PvP.

you can see that that persons idea of pvp is to gank under geared people gathering gear is a one shot for most

Agreed, loot luck should not be a pvp bonus because like you said a lot of people who flag are not interested in pvp.

It can’t be the root of the problem when PVP is the root of NW.
If anything, PVE is the root problem of NW, as this is the layer that was added to the game in a hurry. If there is anything dome backwards in the game, it is to retrofit a Rust-like MMOG into a WoW-like whatever-this-has-become.

If you think the majority of MMORPG players don’t care about PVP, it is because you haven’t actually ever played a PVP MMOG, which means you are not a PVP players and also means you would have had nothing to do with NW in the first place if AGS hadn’t baited you to play a fake PVE-oriented game. NW has become a PVE game in the last few months of its development, it was never meant as such.

The vast majority of people like both PvP and PvE. The extremists like yourself who only like one or the other are in the tiny minority.

You mean ganking gatherers isn’t real PvP content? Blasphemy!!!

But they are a very vocal minority.

The extra 30% makes a huge difference in terms of craft mods. Drop of Ironwood sap is consistently selling for ~8k on Camelot, and has gone up to 13k+ for brief moments. I’ve gotten logging to +40 aptitude and I’ve never seen one in any aptitude crate, only when farming in full logging luck gear, with 3 major trophies, +2000 luck food and flagged.

Competition for T5 mats is tough enough, especially for ori and ironwood, that getting chased off or ganked by some rando running around flagged is incredibly annoying. With my logging gear, I’ve got 300+ con and light armor, so I rarely die to anything but a zerg, but while I’m kiting them around, someone unflagged is likely going to steal my Ironwood. Gathering is not a PvP activity, so why force it?

You can get about the same amount of gathering luck from wearing a logging set…if you’re stuck on that.

The gather bonus is there so that PVP folks can wear normal gear.

You can run around all day in your gathering or luck sets and have the same bonuses…with no risk.

Awful suggestion, why are u so jealous of a bonus for others? Literally has 0 impact on you. Its a multiplayer game not a farming simulation

It appears you are one of those few people that missed the memo that way back during their alpha test they completely changed direction after realizing a full out pvp game of this nature was a no starter. I’m sorry for your loss but game studios pretty much know that’s a failed model. Pvp can be completely 100% removed from New World easily and the game would thrive. Pve can not. Period! Myself and a large majority of mmorpg players have less than zero interest in being a piece of your cheap content!

Actually you are completely incorrect. I realize people like yourself can’t see the obvious…but saying 10% of players on average are flagged at any given time would be a gross over-estimate.

no, it allows PvP players to enjoy the same luck bonus as PvE players.

you want luck without the risk? wear the appropriate gear.

you don’t want PvP? don’t flag

The logic is more risks, more rewards

This is just one awesome example of why the flagging bonus should be removed. The only thing the ‘rah rah kill gathers’ crowd ever comes back with is ‘more reward for more risk’ which is complete idiocy. This bonus was implemented in a poor ass attempt to appease tears of people that think they are entitled easy kills and equally as poor attempt to entice more willing flagging/open world pvp. Which was obvious from the onset neither would be successful. They tried…it failed…it’s still illogical…remove it.

Obviously you have an inconsiderate hatred towards PvP players, but you have to deal with it : the game is investing on PvP as much as on PvE. I can understand that for a PvE player the logic of “more risk, more rewards” doesn’t make sense but for PvP players it does.
